BRICK — Build Update Call Notes (1.3)

Mostly a fix-up pass: several things in the last update shipped with a piece missing. Plus one new feature.

New: salvage the things you built

The Salvager used to take loose components — gears, pipes, springs — on a single keypress, and nothing else. A spare door, a turret you changed your mind about, six window shutters you over-crafted: all dead weight.

It opens a panel now. Components work exactly as before, including the one-button "break down everything". Anything you crafted — doors, boxes, turrets, shutters, traps, any placeable in your bag — breaks down for half of what it cost to build.

That's the same rate the hammer already gives for knocking a placed piece down, so salvaging a spare and placing-then-demolishing pay the same. One click per item on purpose: components are interchangeable, a crafted rifle isn't.

Doors now look like what they are made of

A Stone Door and a Metal Door were, visually, the Wooden Door. Identical brown planks. Double doors have had proper tiers all along, so only the single door was affected.

Wood — ledged and braced planks, brass knob
Stone — a timber slab banded across with iron straps and bolts
Metal — a plated security door: recessed panel, heavy welded frame, corner bolts, steel lever
Things that were invisible or wrong in your hands
The Turret Ammo Box had no model at all. It placed correctly, took ammo, fed your turrets — and couldn't be seen. Its menu card was blank for the same reason, since those icons are drawn from the piece itself. Now an olive steel ammo can with a carry handle and brass rounds on the lid.
The held bandage was a grey pebble. Anything the viewmodel didn't recognise fell back to a generic stone, drawn in front of the real item. Now a roll of gauze with a red cross and a tail.
Held food and fuel had the same problem and no model at all. Now a ration tin and a jerry can.
The bandage icon in the QUICK BELT was a plain grey circle — that panel knew about food but not medical. Bandages, syringes and medkits now show their real icon and count there.
Telling your recruits to cook

Ordering COOK answered "ALL HANDS: GET FARMING" — the confirmation had no cook wording, so the order looked like it hadn't registered.

The job itself was working. What was missing was any way to see why nobody moved. The order now tells you at the moment you give it: no campfire in reach, no Raw Meat or Raw Fish in your boxes, or that food is already cooked — a fire only takes Raw Meat and Raw Fish. That last one is the common case: a box full of cooked fish looks like a box full of fish. The Clan panel also shows how many recruits are cooking and what's stopping them.

Game update5 Sep 2026BRICK Update: Graphics, Performance, Keybinding & MoreThis is the largest update since the map release: 43 changes covering the freezing, the entire art style, every car, the characters, the props, the adverts, and a controls system players had been asking for. 1. The freezing is fixed This was the complaint that mattered most, and it deserves the honest version. The game stuttered every few seconds while moving or turning. It was worse on HIGH, a…Game update2 Sep 2026Interactive Map UpdateThe map is now something you can actually use Zoom and pan Scroll to zoom, drag to pan, from the whole island in to 9x. The point under your cursor stays put while you zoom, which is what makes it feel like a map rather than a slider. There are buttons too — ZOOM ±, CENTRE ON ME, and WHOLE ISLAND — and the current zoom is shown in the corner. The thing that quietly breaks features like this is…Game update31 Aug 2026New Update: Recruit Farming & Smarter RivalsThe theme is the people in the world. Your crew can farm, and rival survivors finally arm themselves instead of standing around holding a rock. There are also two bugs in here that could end a run outright. New: your crew can farm A fifth recruit order alongside Follow Me, Guard Here, Harvest and Cook. Put down farm plots, keep seed in a storage box, and a recruit on Farm plants them, harvests…
