I did this because starting over completely sucks. Yes you still lose SOME abilities, but you'll be able to buy some back now. And not just that, keeps things balanced. If you want it to be unbalanced and be a GOD, play endless. That's literally the point of that mode. But story, some balance is needed. So skills unfortunately should reset to keep the game balanced and fun. But, like I said, you won't be starting from square one anymore. You can choose to even save GOLD for the next round, if the current round is manageable. Lots of strategy. Give it a shot, let me know what you think in our discord.
