By My Side – Update 1.0.4
This update expands language support, improves controller gameplay, and fixes a variety of localization and gameplay issues.
🌍 Four New Languages
- By My Side now supports a total of 12 languages.
- Polish, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Turkish have been added.
- Each new localization was built using its own terminology glossary to ensure item names remain consistent across recipes, inventory, and tooltips.
- Every language also went through an additional proofreading and quality assurance pass.
- Players in Taiwan and Hong Kong now receive the Traditional Chinese version instead of Simplified Chinese.
🎮 Controller
- Sprinting can now be activated by pushing the left stick forward twice. Sprint remains active while moving forward and automatically stops when you stop walking.
- The classic L3 sprint button is still fully supported.
- Controller button prompts are now displayed correctly throughout the game, including tutorials, the activity log, and the revive teammate prompt.
- The official Steam Controller badge will arrive with Update 1.0.5. A short tutorial explaining how to open the quick menu in the bottom-left corner by pressing the right stick is still being added. (R3 press and hold)
- Automatic switching between keyboard and controller button prompts now works correctly in all 12 supported languages.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- Reward descriptions for Island Contracts are now correctly localized in every language.
- The recipes for the Windmill, Installation Table, Chair, and Table now correctly require Wooden Planks instead of Wood.
- The Supply Drop description now correctly displays the delivered item (Fuel).
- Numerous translation issues in the Chinese localization have been fixed, including incorrect machine names, inconsistent item terminology, and recipe and dialogue text errors.
