Hey Frog Sqwad 🐸,
It’s been a busy week over at Panic Stations HQ! We’ve been working hard to gather and act on as much feedback as possible.
We’ve seen a lot of players, both in reviews and on social media, struggling with some of Frog Sqwad’s mechanics. What we’ve realised is that things we now do as muscle memory aren’t signposted very well in-game. So today, you’ll see a new tutorial to help you jump in and learn some of the most important mechanics!
On top of this, we’ve also added tooltips during gameplay to make things a bit clearer.We’ve also seen some players disappointed with the lack of tongue functionality, and more importantly, a big request for a tongue reel feature. So we’ve added that too! Your little frog can now use its tongue to move up and down in sewers, helping with puzzles and overall movement.
For keyboard: R - Reel In, T - Reel out.
For controller: Trigger - Reel In, Bumper - Reel Out
We also felt that the Swamp King was a bit stingy on day one. We want to encourage players to get their hands on items and experiment with mechanics earlier, so you’ll now receive 400 coins when you first hop in!

What’s coming next:We know there’s still a lot of work to do, including save systems, network issues, and key bindings. We also want to bring you more content like rooms, items, and hats. We’re actively working on these and will share another dev blog next week with an update on our progress.
