Two new levels, better jumping and a fresh start on the leaderboards.
New levels
- Level 1 Simple. A brand-new level with its own look. You'll find it in level select right below Level 1, complete with a preview image.
- Level 3 Simple. Another new level with its own look. You'll find it in level select right below Level 3, also with a preview image.
- Capsules to collect. Level 1 Simple has one cosmetic capsule to find, and Level 3 Simple has two.
- Starting gate. In Level 3 Simple, the gate swings open as you leave the start and your run begins. It never gets in your way.
- Level intros. The first time you enter a level, a short flyover shows you the whole map under the level's name. Press any key to skip it.
Settings menu
- A proper settings screen. Press Esc and choose Settings. It's split into four tabs: Controls, Camera, Video and Audio.
- Rebind your keys. Every movement and action key can be changed: roll, jump, slide, reset, spin controls, the emote wheel and interact. Click a key, press the new one, and Esc cancels. If two actions share a key, the menu tells you. Reset to Defaults puts everything back.
- Display mode. Choose Fullscreen, Borderless or Windowed, pick a window size, and turn V-Sync on or off. The game now launches in fullscreen.
- Camera and audio in one place. Camera sensitivity and rail camera snap live in the Camera tab. Master, Music, SFX, Announcer and Ambient volumes live in the Audio tab. Your settings are saved on their own, so resetting controls never touches your progress.
Emotes
- See everyone's emotes. When you play online, emotes now show up above other players' marbles, and they see yours. Hold E, flick towards an emote and let go.
Movement
- Higher jump. Your base jump is about 11% higher.
- Bounce jumps. Pressing jump while you bounce on landing now jumps. It can never stack extra height.
- Reworked wall jumps. Your first two push-offs from the same stretch of wall are full power. The third is a little weaker and follows your steering, and after that they fade out. Touching the floor or jumping across to the opposite wall resets the count. Riding a wall no longer weakens your jump off it.
- Big-fall bounce. Land from a high fall and your marble bounces back up, with each bounce smaller than the last. You'll never bounce higher than where you fell from. Jumping mid-rebound gives you the bigger of the two, not both. Hold slide (Shift) as you land to soak up the bounce.
- Clean restarts. Press F for one clean restart that stops all momentum, even after a launcher, mid-slide or mid-fall. The camera snaps straight to your marble, and falling out or hitting a hazard respawns you the same way.
Camera and sound
- Zoom that sticks. Your scroll-wheel zoom is now remembered between levels and after you restart the game.
- Announcer volume. The Audio tab has a new Announcer slider, so you can turn the announcer down or off without changing any other sound.
- Gentler start. Music and background sound fade in when the game launches, and the music starts a little quieter.
- Softer slides. Sliding and wall riding sound quieter and much less harsh.
- Quieter fans. Fan hum is much softer and doesn't carry as far, so groups of fans no longer build into a loud drone.
- Calmer ambience. Background sound is turned down across every level for a more relaxed feel.
Fresh leaderboards
- Clean slate. Because movement has changed, the time leaderboard for every level in the demo will be reset shortly after the update goes live. That includes the new boards for Level 1 Simple and Level 3 Simple.
- Personal records. Your best times, all-time record, last run time, highest jump and longest air time reset once, the first time you launch the update. You keep your unlocked skins, emotes, trails and everything you've collected.
- Study your runs. The game now keeps your 40 most recent visits to each level: your paths, speed, jumps and falls. Press F4 to cycle an overlay of your routes, with marks where you fell, and a heat map of where you spend your time. It saves quietly in the background, and this run history is stored on your own PC.
Fixed
- Jump spam. Mashing or turbo-pressing jump now gives one normal jump instead of launching you sky-high.
- Free mid-air jumps. You no longer get a free jump in mid-air from grazing a wall, clipping a corner, rolling off a ledge, bumping a ceiling or sliding off an edge.
- Wall jumps while falling. These no longer fling you outward or get extra power from your fall. Inside corners can no longer be climbed forever.
- Steep ramps. Pressing jump on a steep ramp edge that can't lift you no longer uses up your jump.
- Rails and launchers. A jump pressed right after leaving a rail or launcher is no longer ignored.
- Volume sliders. Changes to the volume sliders now stay saved when you restart, go back to the main menu or quit.
- Level 4. Level 4 now loads correctly from level select, and its run timer starts correctly.
- Level 4 preview. Level select now shows a bird's-eye preview image of Level 4.
More on the way. Thanks for playing, and good luck on the fresh leaderboards!
