Following launch day, today is the most important moment for Arcade World Cups because with this update (v1.1.1), the promised content is complete and even more so, because to Europe's two most important competitions we've added the third, the Conference, which we had never talked about, but here it is.
That is why this update adds 69 more teams, reaching a total of 335 between clubs and national teams.
I am very happy with the reception, the messages of support, and the congratulations. I was pleasantly surprised that you've conveyed that kind of joy for an unofficial game/demake.
And what's next?
From this moment on, I'll start thinking out loud in order to discuss what else we can add.
In principle, I plan to start working on a new World Cup mode that could be interesting: Playing a 64-country World Cup (just like the 2030 one seems to be) with the option to play it with any national team on the planet. There are over 200, but my son already drew all the flags of the world.
The idea would be to be able to choose one country while the remaining teams are chosen at random, but taking care of the number of slots per confederation and giving the best teams a better chance of participating, so that the tournament doesn't end up completely distorted.
After that step, I plan to evaluate the feasibility of making the game multiplayer: first local and then online.
To make the game multiplayer, I have to change quite a few things from the original match because unfortunately I never designed it for that. The truth is I hadn't planned to publish it on Steam and I didn't have the necessary experience to foresee what you might ask of me. I have to change a lot of things, and in a football match simulator that's complex: any modification can produce many imbalances, so I'm going to have to take some time to keep everything under control.
Anyway, my idea would be not to touch the original game and make a "duplicate" of the match with the possibility of playing two-player and publishing it to test it, so users can experience it and give me their feedback.
If all goes well, I can then think about making it online—something I have no idea how to do, haha, but if we've made it this far, why not go all out.
Both the random World Cup and multiplayer are aspects I am evaluating, and if carried out, we won't see them in the short term; as I said before, they are just "out loud" thoughts.

So I hope you enjoy being able to play the 5 most important club competitions, and I'll be right here to read your bug reports, suggestions, and recommendations.
Thank You Very Much!

First of all, I want to share that I am incredibly happy with the release of Arcade World Cups. It's only been a few days since launch, but it has been deeply rewarding—not just for the sales, but for all the feedback I’ve received. So much learning, so many hours of designing, testing, programming... and many sleepless nights after waking up in the middle of the night. The greatest satisfaction is setting a goal and achieving it right on time. A scaled-down version that grew massive I couldn't have imagined this back when I was messing around with Pico-8 and wondered what a Tehk…
