The original plan was to launch Cycling Champion on June 18, but due to personal circumstances, it became completely impossible for me to reach that date in the way I wanted to.
I can finally confirm an official release date: Cycling Champion will launch on Steam on July 16.
Until then, I’ll keep working to polish the game as much as possible, fix bugs, and add as much content as I can. And the work won’t stop at launch: my goal is to release monthly updates with new features, improvements, and content, always taking the community’s feedback into account until I can finally release version 1.0.0.
The game will be available in Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Dutch.
Spanish and English are easy for me, since I speak both without any problems. I also lived in Italy for a year, so I still remember a fair amount of Italian — and I still open La Gazzetta dello Sport from time to time. Dutch is a completely different story: I don’t speak a word of it. But given how passionate the Netherlands is about cycling, I thought it would be great to have the game available in Dutch as well.
I really hope I don’t mess up the translations too much, and I’d love to hear feedback from the community if you spot anything that feels wrong or unnatural. Luckily, Cycling Champion is a game with very little text, so keeping everything polished should be manageable.
Right now, a small private beta is running with a few people close to me. They’re helping with something very important: giving me honest feedback about what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to be fixed before launch.
Thank you for following the project. There’s less than a month left until we hit the road. 🚴
