Playtest Ledger: Numbers, Lessons and What's Next

Hey Shopkeepers,

It’s been a month since we announced Probably Stolen and opened the Playtest, and thanks to all of your reports, feedback, surveys filled and watching you play the game on Discord, we’d like to share what we’ve captured from your thoughts so far and the playtest statistics!

Counting the Contraband: The Playtest Numbers:

What you've told us:

We’ve found that you've been loving the depth Probably Stolen has to offer and want more of pretty much everything: more unique customers, more starting perks, more items, more machines. We’ve also heard you’ve been having lots of fun with gambling and that the Hard Mode 'Rock Bottom’ starting scenario is a big hit!

Throughout this Playtest, we’ve already made a bunch of big quality-of-life changes, such as multi-item handling, equipping tools via the Toolbox keybind, and sorting. We’ve also squashed a ton of bugs, added better support for non-16:9 monitor users in full screen, and fixed the majority of the localization issues. A lot of these changes are especially helpful later in the game, when your inventory starts filling up and you’ve got way more items to keep track of.

And lastly, we’ve definitely heard your requests for more store customization!

Thank you all so much for jumping into the playtest and sharing feedback, filled out the survey, or simply came out on Discord to share your experience with us!

Tune in to the tinyBuild Connect livestream for Probably Stolen's Release Date Reveal + new Demo release on September 14th!
