After a lot of development, testing, and increasingly ridiculous projectile combinations, the first public demo for Do Not Eject is officially available to play on Steam!
Do Not Eject is a retro handheld-inspired bullet heaven roguelite set inside corrupted game cartridges. Choose a digital partner, survive fast runs, transform your attacks with Modules and Patches, defeat corrupted guardians, and turn every run into permanent progress.
Explore the Data Cartridge, the game's first cartridge world
Build around projectile-changing Modules and stackable Patches
Equip Auxiliary Chips for additional build interactions
Battle increasingly dangerous enemies and corrupted guardians
Permanently upgrade your partner and console between runs
Push the Data Cartridge through Corruption Level 2
Play with full keyboard or controller support
This is the first public release of Do Not Eject, and I'm excited to finally get it into players' hands.
If you play the demo, I'd love to hear what you think. I've set up dedicated Bug Reports and Demo Feedback & Suggestions forums here in the Community Hub.
Tell me what feels great, what feels confusing, what seems completely busted, and what you'd like to see improved as development continues.
If you enjoy the demo, wishlisting Do Not Eject is one of the best ways you can support the game.
Thanks for playing!
