We've just reached 100,000 wishlists in 1 month!
When I first came up with this game, I never expected it to perform so well, and when we began playtesting it, I was blown away by the product that we've managed to make and it honestly surpassed my expectations for the gameplay. And I'm so happy to see so many players excited for the game while our playtesting is running and everybody is loving it.
The secret to the success of both is clear - WE ARE SO DEAD isn't a game about seance.
It literally IS seance. Your real friend is behind that board. And you can only win using real communication skills.
Of course, it took a lot of game design to get to the point where this is perfected, but the core reason it works so well is because it feels so much like real seance (not that I have any real-world experience, but still haha).
In a market flooded with the next friendslop and dopamine rush (which can be fun for sure, but we've seen that before), I can't wait for you to all to experience something that personally - feels like the most real game I've played in a while.
I think this game is extremely special, and will make a mark for a long time to come - but that will depend on you! I will do my best to keep updating it as long as there is interest.
See you on August 17th for our Early Access launch!
Some questions that people asked:
The game will support FRIENDS ONLY at launch.
There are no public lobbies. You need a friend behind that board.
The game officially supports 2-6 players, which is what our playtest ran on.
The player cap is 16 players, but we did not test above 6 players.
When you first begin to play, please try to take a moment to understand how to play. You'll be lost without communicating with your friend to win. This isn't Lethal Company. You'll keep losing if you don't communicate and strategize with your friends how to win. If you lose a round, try to take a moment to talk in the lobby to see how you could improve your strategy for the next round.
You don't need to write full words to warn your friend, the whole premise is doing one-letter warnings or codes so that your friend can quickly get the info, not constantly writing full words on the board. So, like spam knocking "R" for "RUN". The board is intentionally difficult to control so you don't attempt to write full words constantly on it.
When the game comes out - don't forget to leave a Steam review after playing. Those help a ton.
And if you think of any way to improve the game, please reach out to me and let me know! And I'll try my best to read all the reviews as well.
