Quests, Companions, and Ziplines
Hey mages,

This week’s update was focused on making Mage Escape 2000 feel more alive, more story-driven, and more fun to move through.

Quest System 📜
A full quest scripting system is now in place, including quest data, runtime logic, progress tracking, UI support, world anchors, NPC/player/monster hooks, and editor tools.

The quest editor also got a major upgrade with visual beat cards, templates, flow alerts, map previews, companion actions, encounter editing, and clearer stage summaries.

Companions 🧙
Companion infrastructure has been added for quest characters.

Companions can now follow, lead, travel, appear on the map, sync in multiplayer, react to damage, and support quest-specific behavior. Charlie and Helen both received new quest companion work this week.

Ziplines ⚡
Ziplines are now in the game.

They include map-placed routes, cable/support visuals, boarding logic, player riding behavior, grind audio, sparks, motion effects, and interaction improvements.

Polish and Fixes 🔧
This week also included HUD quest letterboxing, expanded quest UI, minimap companion marker updates, healing beam input improvements, multiplayer sync cleanup, and more robust scene/gameplay configuration defaults.

Content Updates 🗺️
Helen and Charlie quest content was updated, including new text, stage changes, companion spawn anchors, encounter/drop table tweaks, and shaman abduction behavior.

Thanks for following development. More soon.
