Hi everyone,
It's now been almost one month since Rocket Engineer has been released in Early Access. It has been incredible to see people enjoying the game for multiple hours.
This kind of post is the first of its kind since the release and there will be one every last Friday of the month. The purpose of these is to show what we've been working on in the past month so that the game does not go silent as soon as there are no updates for a while.
Wait, we? Yes, since the last few week Ålgerben has now joined the development team. It'll help do more things at once and ultimately reach the 1.0 that we all desire as soon as possible.
Over the last month we've managed to push 3 patches which all included requested features. Some of them being, adding the possibility to pause the game, adding the ability to quick save and quick load, adding the possibility to destroy buildings, adding the possibility to recover resources from a rocket all at once when recovering the rocket near a colony as well as other diverse fixes.
In parallel, work has already started on two upcoming updates. The first one which is expected to come in the next weeks is a UI overhaul across the game which plans to introduces mostly QoL improvements. Some of the improvements that are already done and are being worked on is the ability to filter rockets in the map view as well as reorganizing stages/parts in the stage view. Although, there are still much more improvements to come on the UI side. On this second update, which will also be the first major update, Rocket Engineer's world has been scaled up to 1:100. This is an increase of roughly 42x compared to the current version. Currently, all the resources masses are being rebalanced to fit this new scale. There will be a first playlets of this new scale in the coming weeks. If this interests you, don't hesitate to join the Discord and ask to be part of the experimental branch. On that, thanks a lot for your continuous interest in the game, see you next month!
