Eleven languages, and a new way to beat your sighted friends

The demo on Steam has been updated, and it is a big one.

ELEVEN LANGUAGES

We started with three. AUDIOSPEED now speaks Italian, English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian and Hindi. And not just the menus: interface, full voice-over, subtitles, the navigator calling your corners, the crowd telling you how badly it went. All of it, in every one of them, with a native voice for each. It still guesses your language on the first launch.

AUDIO VS. VIDEO MULTIPLAYER

Two players, one keyboard, one race. Player one drives by ear, the way the game is meant to be played. Player two drives by sight, watching the screen. Same track, same moment, two completely different jobs.

If you have ever tried to explain to a sighted friend what playing an audiogame is actually like: stop explaining, hand them the keyboard and beat them.

NEW RIVALS ON THE GRID

The ships you race against used to be rough shapes bolted together in a hurry. They are now six proper sculpted starships, picked at random every race. And they no longer dip into the track surface at the bottom of their hover: that one had been quietly bothering us for a while.

WISHLIST AUDIOSPEED

The full game is coming: the tournament, all seven tracks, every ship and a global leaderboard. The demo is here now, free.

The wishlist button is at the top of this page. Please use it. It costs you one click and nothing else, but it is the single most useful thing you can do for this game: Steam decides who gets shown to whom largely on that number, and an audiogame does not turn up in many people's feeds by accident. Every wishlist puts AUDIOSPEED in front of someone who has never been told that a racing game can be played with the monitor switched off.

And keep telling us what you think. This demo is still the opening lap.
