WBS26 Development Update — August 2026

August was one of the busiest months of development for WBS26 so far.

A large part of the month was focused on expanding the world of the game. We continued working directly with independent wrestling promotions and wrestlers from different countries, securing permissions and collecting the assets needed to represent them properly in WBS26.

By the end of August, the project had grown to around 30 officially represented wrestling promotions and approximately 500 wrestlers.

But August wasn't only about expanding the roster.

Building the 3D side of WBS26

Work continued on wrestler models, arenas and the systems needed for the full 3D presentation of matches.

The goal remains the same: WBS26 is primarily a booking and management game, but we also want players to actually watch the wrestling world they create come alive.

A lot of the work happening right now is behind the scenes: preparing models, improving assets, testing presentation and building the foundation for the full match broadcast system.

A better permission system

One important lesson from the demo was how we handle real wrestlers and promotions.

Our process has now changed.

For official representation, we first receive permission from the promotion and then confirm participation with individual wrestlers. Wrestlers who contact us directly can also appear independently as free agents.

This takes considerably more time, but it gives us a much stronger foundation for the final game.

The WBS26 world keeps growing

Throughout August we announced new wrestlers, promotions and partnerships almost every day.

The roster now represents wrestling scenes from Europe, North America, South America, Australia and beyond, making the WBS26 universe much larger than originally planned.

We are also collecting championship designs, promotion branding, show names and other details that will help each company feel different inside the game.

Steam wishlists

WBS26 also passed 800 Steam wishlists during August.

Our next major community milestone is 1,000 wishlists, where we plan to show much more of the full 3D match experience.

What's next?

September will be less about simply making the database bigger and more about turning everything we've collected into a working game.

Our priorities include:

• continuing development of the 3D match presentation
• integrating promotions and wrestlers into the final database
• improving wrestler models and game assets
• expanding championships and promotion content
• refining the booking and management systems
• continuing optimization for PC and Steam Deck

There is still a lot of work ahead, but every month WBS26 gets closer to the game we originally wanted to build.

Thank you to every wrestler, promotion and player who supported the project during August.

The road to December continues.
