controller polish, a clock-out that turns up when it should, and clearing the board now pays.

CONTROLLER
Buttons that act on something you picked somewhere else now have a face button of their own, printed on the button. X to RESTORE a file, X to DELETE a message, X to RE-RUN a night, Y to COPY SEED. The glyph matches whatever controller you are holding and follows your own rebinds.

Windows also open on the thing you came for now, instead of on the close button in the corner, so the first press of A no longer throws away the window you just opened. And the Start button on the taskbar can be reached by walking down off the desktop icons, not only by pressing START.

CLOCK OUT
If a shift genuinely cannot be finished, the game now says so and offers to clock you out. It could not before on a deck with unlimited redraws: a deck you can always draw from never counts as finished, so no offer ever came and you were left cycling a pile that could not pay. It now checks the arithmetic as well, so it can tell you the number is out of reach while the deck still turns.

It stays deliberately generous. A shift you could still win will never be called hopeless, and you can always decline the offer and keep playing.

CLEARING THE BOARD
Filing all 52 cards used to win the shift outright, whatever the quota said. It now pays a large bonus that runs through your chain and your installed programs like any other score. Clear the board with a hot chain and a good tray and it pays enormously.

Through the ordinary week this comfortably beats the quota and nothing changes for you. It is deep in overtime that the number gets the last word, which is where it always should have been.
