Captains,

The Scenario Editor is now available in Ship of the Line. You can now create your own naval engagements by selecting the battlefield, weather conditions, participating nations, fleets, deployment positions, and victory objectives. Custom scenarios can be saved, edited, and launched directly from the scenario menu.

Main Features

  • Select from available historical battlefields

  • Set wind direction and wind strength

  • Set current direction and current strength

  • Configure the battle time limit

  • Add multiple participating nations

  • Assign each nation to the Blue or Red coalition

  • Choose ships directly from the full ship catalogue

  • Deploy ships freely across the battlefield

  • Organize ships into separate fleets

  • Rotate and reposition deployed ships

  • Define objective zones

  • Select individual victory conditions for each side

  • Save, load, edit, remove, and immediately play custom scenarios

The editor currently supports victory conditions such as annihilation, along with objective-based battle setups. This system will continue to expand as additional battle rules, maps, units, and campaign-related features are developed.

The Scenario Editor gives players access to the same underlying battlefield structure used by the game’s built-in scenarios. You can recreate historical engagements, design balanced fleet battles, test unusual ship combinations, or build entirely fictional confrontations.

This update is also another step toward the larger campaign system. The battlefield deployment, coalition, objective, and fleet-management structures developed for the editor will serve as foundations for future campaign-generated battles.

As promised from the beginning, the Scenario Editor has been released as a free update for every owner of Ship of the Line—not as a separate paid DLC. I believe tools that expand the life and possibilities of the game should remain part of the game itself.

Thank you for continuing to support the development of Ship of the Line.

Create your fleet, set the wind, and write your own battle.

See you at sea.

The developer of Ship of the Line

P.S. The Ship of the Line Steam Workshop is now open! Try creating your own historical scenario with the Scenario Editor and share it with the community. I look forward to seeing the battles you bring back to life!
