Working on some exciting stuff!

Although this weeks update is short, I have a lot of exciting stuff coming up.

There are some bugs I am trying to fit into the schedule. However, my main goal is getting the rest of the in-game year finished and playable.

Upcoming changes (not in the game yet!!!):

  1. New Spring content (enemies, music, effects).

  2. New Summer content (enemies, music, effects, heat strokes).

  3. Item Almanac.

  4. More intuitive "item placement" (as to avoid people losing objects on random tables lol).

  5. New Aquarium desk NPC.

  6. More festivals.

  7. Bandit NPCs + Bandit Enemies + Bandit event.

  8. Making Fishing actually scary with cool rotoscopes and stuff. Yeah it'll be cool. Just taking my time.

After spending a long time on getting the fundamentals of fishing, I finally came to the conclusion that we need a "beta" branch.

There is just way too much content I am throwing at the main branch! I want to make sure people have a chance to test this stuff out before it hits the "Default" branch. That brings me to my new changes.

What's new:

  1. In-game change log that shows all of the recent updates.

  2. A new "Debugger" in the "unstable" branch. Press "f3" while in-game to activate. This is helpful when you want to "unstuck" the player, or "move_to x y" a location that isn't within the game window.

  3. I added a new "unstable" branch. (This is accessible by clicking library-> "Besmirch" -> properties
-> Game Versions & Betas -> unstable). It may take some time to show up, or a "re-install" of game contents.
Here are some screen shots if that is helpful!

Thank you all for reading and I am excited to show you all what I've been working on soon! If you are interested in seeing more or have some suggestions, always feel free to join us on the discord server here:

Community10 Sep 2026Thursday Update #10I made an "unstable" co-op/multiplayer branch! Exactly what it sounds like! there is definitely a lot of things that will need to be fixed. If you change your game to the "unstable" branch, you can test out the recent changes to multiplayer. Everything should be "Playable" up until winter. The "Town destroyed" cutscene after day 16 needs some work done as well. There is also a first look at Cha…Sale1 Sep 2026PvE Survival Crafting FestThank you to Steam for organizing the PvE Survival Crafting Fest - Aug 31 to Sept 7th Besmirch is 20% OFF all week to celebrate Read the latest patch notes to see everything new! Just a small quick patch (v0.7.01): · Beet festival "Can throw mini-game" crash due to "resetting" the throwing cans. It was looking for can's that didn't exist. · I can't believe I missed this... Workbench required nails => Nails required Workbench... So crafting was impossible lol. If anyone notices other issues I'll happily fix. Thanks all! ~Nubecula & Gangru
