Thursday Update #03

Besmirch · published 27 Jun 2026, 19:53 UTC

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

(Note: This is originally from June 27th. I attempted to update the categorization, and Steam suddenly changed it's published date to July 4th. So for the record, this is post is meant to come before the Update #4 post)

Okay, I know it's not a "Thursday" update...

At least this one is an actual update though lol!

I Just had to take a little extra time getting the fishing mechanic to a playable place.

I also tackled some of the existing bugs that have come up over the last week or two.

Changes:

  1. Fishing rods.

  2. "Fishmonger" shop. Can be built from Carpentry Shop in town square. (Unlocks around day 13 I believe).

  3. Cool little fish that roam the waters.

  4. 7 different catchable fish! 6 common. 1 rare.

  5. Fishing mini-game.

  6. Varying difficulties to fishing mini-game according to fish type. Better fishing rods are sometimes needed to catch fish. I don't even know if the rare fish is possible to catch. O_O

  7. Giant fish eats small fish.

  8. A town aquarium to the right of the town square! You can find it right next to the town square "right-most" exit.

  9. Aquarium Fish tanks that store caught fish.

  10. An "Aquarium deposit machine" that you can place fish in. This will add them to the Aquarium fish tanks. I will need to explain this better in the following updates!

  11. Fishing tab in inventory that displays previously caught fish and the largest weight/biggest fish.

  12. Also, fish weight/height is technically infinite! There is a weight/height modifier that infinitely rolls a d10 and adds a little extra to each individual fish until the roll fails.

  13. Controller "grid-snapping" to menu tabs. Eventually will extend to the menu contents as well.

  14. Unique/quest items should no longer be sellable.

  15. To avoid losing items and "soft-locking" yourself out of specific quests. I made unique items/quest items purchasable from the merchant cart. (I don't know if this adds other complications. We'll find out I guess lol).

  16. Added Achievement for beating Early access boss. This replaced the previous "Demo Complete" achievement. Which totally makes no sense inside of the actual "non-demo" version of the game.

Bug fixes (Some may have already been fixed and mentioned in a previous update. regardless, Just listing here as well):

  1. S rank in "Beet/can throw" beet festival game now shoes coins

  2. Unidentified "???" items (like "Mushrooms") now display description correctly when selling.

  3. Upgrading armor did not update defense correctly.

  4. Bolognese sauce recipe description updated to show correct ingredients.

  5. Winter did not come sometimes. (Due to dungeons thinking your still delving).

  6. River misalignment issue.

  7. Curious mouse description updated to avoid "Sewers".

  8. Krecik accepts blacksmith quest. Regardless of location.

  9. Mushrooms stack correctly.

  10. Controller works in blacksmith upgrading tree.

  11. Duplicate note additions avoided.

  12. Giant's stop chasing when day ends/new room.

  13. Crash related to Wilderness and fog.

  14. Crash related to holding equipment.

  15. Crashes related to items maintaining "improper" use script.

  16. Crops should no longer "re-water" themselves under certain conditions.

  17. Loki will not trade when cart is broken.

  18. Vasil no longer accepts potion quest in winter.

  19. 10k money achievement should be fixed?

  20. Watering can transfer of water should be fixed.

  21. Quicker controller movement in menues.

  22. Winter "Supply" quest no longer sends "Congratulations" letter if certain characters are ahem... not around anymore.

  23. Long item names should no longer grow too far in supply screen.

  24. Shoulder buttons + trigger buttons swap tabs in menus.

  25. Bundles should save now.

  26. Fixed "Fullscreen" breaking sometimes due to alt+tab. Still, "Borderless Fullscreen" should be used preferably.

  27. Tall winter monsters shouldn't move during dialogue.

  28. Dying after Mayor cutscene sometimes locked the player out of important cutscenes. I added a special case on death to "re-allow" mayor to show up to door of house. I hope this fixes it for everyone!

  29. Cauldron still had snow on it in spring sometimes.

  30. Winter greenhouse soil was untillable sometimes.

  31. Adjusted raw meat sprite to avoid confusion.

  32. Greenhouse should not become "un-watered" anymore... I hope.

  33. Spring-specific crops would become un-watered on room leave/re-enter.

Finally, what's planned in the next update:

  1. Adding an aquarium "custodian".

  2. Adding a bedroom for Mayor inside of the aquarium. Kind of weird, I know. I think it matches his personality for some reason though.

  3. Adding "Swamp" region with more Fish.

  4. Adding "Ocean"/"Sea" region with more Fish?

  5. More fish types.

  6. Extending Agatha story line.

  7. Witch in the swamp to fight.

  8. A new "Van Helsing-like" visitor to town.

There are bound to be some issues with the added content and I will try to work as quickly as I can to make sure everything is "stable" and playable. I definitely didn't expect how difficult fishing is to add to a game! I will know in the future to give myself more time with such extensive features.

Thank you all!

~Nubecula & Gangru

Community10 Sep 2026Thursday Update #10I made an "unstable" co-op/multiplayer branch! Exactly what it sounds like! there is definitely a lot of things that will need to be fixed. If you change your game to the "unstable" branch, you can test out the recent changes to multiplayer. Everything should be "Playable" up until winter.
