The demo has been updated to v0.28.0, bringing the foundations of a new damage model. The new model allows for individual parts damage, with each part having their own visual damage effects and performance impact.
Currently, only a car's front and rear wings can be damaged. Engine, side pod, and floor damage will be added in future updates. A reliability system will also be added in the future, which will allow for brake and engine failures, and determine how robust a car's wings are.
New damage model with individual front and rear wing damage.
Only a car's front wing can be repaired when pitting. Rear wing damage will persist until the end of the race. If a car loses its rear wing, they will retire immediately.
The driver's hands and the car's steering wheel are now animated to match the car's steering direction.
Based on player feedback (thank you!), added Throttle/Brake sensitivity options, and increased the default sensitivity. This is intended to make trigger inputs feel more responsive by default, and allow players to dial in their preference.
Particle effects now render in replay mode.
Grass is now shorter
