Protective actives now cast properly in battle. Taunt, Sanctuary, Wall of Steel and the other shield, immunity and damage-reduction actives used to have no move on the battle map and only added to party power. Now the hero throws a ward over nearby allies that cuts the damage they take and they look cool.
A ward cast plays as a protective cast with links to the allies it covers. The Dossier's "In this fight" card says "Guards allies across a cluster of hexes" and the battle log tallies "N warded". The Active Ranks keepsake fight adds a sparring partner so you can watch the ward land.
Role orders. Each Battle Doctrine order can now dictate who enacts it: Everyone, Tanks, Melee, Ranged or Healers. Only members who fight in that role carry it and nobody else spends memory on it. Each role can also carry one order of its own that takes no order slot, so a sheet holds its usual orders plus up to 4 role orders. "Draft a role order" adds one for the first open role and an order for a role nobody in the party fills reads "nobody to carry it". A Healers line doesn't offer attack or hold orders, since healers keep healing.
Party Focus. "View full party" on the War Table, or the camp icon in a party's header on the Parties tab ("Open Party Focus"), opens a full-screen scene for that party in the style of the Milestone Ceremony. The painted backdrop follows what the party is doing: the hearth at rest, the practice yard while drilling, the notice board on a job and the gate on the road. It shows the roster in framed portraits, the party's orders and what its heroes are saying about each other. Click a hero to open their profile.
"Act on this party" gathers the party's buttons in one place: Auto-equip this party, Get ready, Commander Fills Party, Best Leader, Recall patrol, Cancel the drill and Pause all or Resume. Each shows only when it applies and says why when it can't be used. "Where it is set" sums up the party's Battle doctrine, Gambits and standing orders, Training, Gear, Tower and Raids, each with a "Change →" link. On the War Table, "Give orders on the map" closes the scene and readies the party, so the next quest or raid you click goes to it. Nothing leaves until you deploy.
NOTE: My goal here is to make a one-stop location for Party actions on the War Table, I'd LOVE feedback on this feature as everybody uses these tools a little different. Let me know your thoughts on Discord!
The retirement ceremony. When a hero reaches retirement age, a guild chronicle page tells their story and you seal the chosen role card by pressing and holding ("Hold to seal"). It's a nice little moment for the dudes we like best.
Every optional retirement role shows who holds it today (skill, age and contract years left) and how your hero compares, such as "+12" in green or "-5" in red. A full role no longer just reads "Slot full": it offers "Take <name>'s place". The staffer you replace leaves only when you sign and you pay the normal release fee. With Skip Celebrations or Skip cinematics on you get the plain popup, which now shows the same comparison. This came from a player on Discord.
Carry from a save. New Game ▸ Run Options ▸ Starting Facilities has a new "Carry from a save" picker that starts a new guild among the buildings of one of your existing saves. "Full Levels" brings every building at its level and quality, turns off Steam achievements for that run and marks the header "CARRIED HALLS". "Worn · Level 1" brings only the buildings a new guild can build at Guild Tier 1, worn back to level 1 at low quality. Achievements stay on. The Construction Yard and the Dwarven Forge never carry over and the source save is only read, never changed. Solo standard games only.
A new Quiet Word situation, "At odds": a hero has bad blood with a guildmate they rode with lately. A word that lands moves the tie between them and can bury a grudge or a distrust ("Bram and Sera have buried their grudge. They can share a table again."). Between rivals who have shared enough quests, a word that lands can end the rivalry in mutual respect and turn it into a friendship.
A revealed Gambler can now Make Amends: pledge 2,000g, earn 15,000g of quest gold after the vow, then win their Reckoning. The flaw clears and the hero becomes Frugal.
Route optimization! Drag a party's coin from Hiltcrest along the roads the shortest way to a quest of 4 weeks or more and the trip takes 1 week less. The drop card shows the shorter trip before you deploy and it applies whichever Deploy or Send you press. It doesn't stack with Route Optimization: a trip loses one week at most. The War Table page in Sage's Wisdom explains it.
NOTE: This feature may not make it to the live game, but I wanted to experiment with it a bit.
Four more systems now run in league play: the Quartermaster's gear optimization bonus, Featured Posting, frontier patrols on the War Table and the Deepforge Compact. They leave the "Single player only for now" list.
The Salvage Station's auto-scrap now pays what selling the same piece by hand pays, which scales with condition and rarity. It used to pay each piece's full listed value. A pristine piece now scraps for about two thirds of that for a Common and about half for a Legendary. Worn gear pays less.
Quest-support staff no longer stack. Only your best Cook, Diviner, Chirurgeon, Chronicler and Cartographer count, each by their own skill. A second staffer of the same job adds nothing on top but steps in when the best one is stationed or recovering. At most a Cook gives +7.5% party power and a Chirurgeon cuts quest injury risk by 22.5%.
Cooks, Blacksmiths and Scouts stationed with a garrison detachment now stop gaining skill at their potential tier's ceiling: F-Tier 40, D-Tier 55, C-Tier 70, B-Tier 82, A-Tier 94 and S-Tier 99. Before, they gained +1 every 8 weeks all the way to 99. Staff already above their ceiling keep their skill. The stationed row shows "stops at N" or "Skill ceiling N reached".
A hero saved from death in a Tower battle by Cautious orders, potions or your guild's death prevention now comes home critically injured, as on quests and raids. Before, they walked home unhurt.
All in-game notifications can now be toggled on/off in your Settings > Alerts.
NOTE: You're welcome.
Reduce interface effects now also skips card flips, intros and other one-time reveals. The Milestone Ceremony deals its cards face up, the Grimoire Binding opens on the bound book and the new-game intro appears at once. It also calms the world event, Surface Breach, Goblin Siege, CCL event, Synergy Web, Star Chart and War Table animations.
Settings ▸ Appearance has a War Table Board choice: Painted or Traced (the line map the table used before). Classic artwork always uses the traced board.
The Training screen gives the trainee list more room. The bulk-training bar docks above the list as one line, with a program card that shows how many ticked heroes can start it. Hide maxed, Hide partied and the Party filter sit beside Sort.
The Reserve bench button is now a small chair icon on each hero row, so it no longer sits under your cursor as you pick a hero. Benching shows "<name> is on the Reserve bench." with an Undo button for 8 seconds.
A party card that can't deploy because heroes are training now names them ("Bram and Sera are training") and has Get ready right on the Quests and Contracts lists. The card's Details rows mark heroes in drills, auto-training or rest.
Clicking a selected party card on the Quests and Contracts lists deselects it. The selected card has a stronger ring and a "Selected" tag. The deploy panel no longer pushes the details off screen at large Text Size: Deploy and Queue share one row and a "Deployment" header folds it down.
The Quests board's Commander's Orders editor shows which automation switches are on, with a "Change on the Parties tab →" link.
The Parties roster picker has a "Sort: Idle" button and heroes idle for 2 weeks or more show an "Idle Nw" chip.
The quest board's Ambition and Protégé pickers list heroes by party, in your party order, with "Unassigned" last.
The party slot picker shows each hero's potential tier after their level and marks injured, resting and training heroes.
Ambitions: every road that hasn't opened yet has a "Plan this road" toggle. A hero waiting on a planned road no longer lights the ✦ marker. When the road opens the ✦ comes back and its Crossroads card carries a "✓ Planned" chip. You still swear the road yourself.
Clicking the "A word unspent" chip opens a list of up to five heroes who need a word, each with their situation. Pick one to go to their Rapport tab. Benched heroes sort last.
A contract in its final year shows the weeks left ("12w" in the Registry) instead of "1 year". Contract nudges start 13 weeks before the end instead of a full year.
Deploying a party warns you when a hero's contract ends before the mission does.
A hero's Release section names every reason they can't be released, offers "Stop training" when training is the holdup and shows the fee on the Release Adventurer and Buy Out No-Trade Clause buttons.
A hero bought from a rival marks their Dossier season rows: "with previous guild" before they joined and "joined this season" for the season they arrived.
The Upgrade and New path cards show each skill's recharge and its footprint on the board. Skill cards and "In this fight" say whether a cast is "contact", "ranged" or "near the caster".
The Registry's Adventurers table has a sortable Bond column showing each hero's bond word (Devoted, Close, Familiar, Distant or Estranged).
Quest reports, raid reports and the Tower debrief say why each injured hero was hurt: "Dropped to N% mid-fight", "Finished at N% health" or "Wear and tear (Injury Rate)". Sage's Wisdom has a new entry, "Why Did a Hero at Full Health Come Back Injured?"
The Markets Guilds list shows Asks/u when you filter to guilds with a material, with a cheapest-first sort. A "vs market / vs my price" toggle colors Pays and Asks against the market or against your own Exchange price.
The Exchange has a "Why" filter: Bid up, Pushed down, Settling up, Settling down or Drift. The duplicate risers and fallers footer is gone and long Movers entries no longer spill out. The Front Desk's Markets panel opens Price Trends with the week's 4 biggest risers and fallers.
Material Sources in the Workshop and the Compendium says where each raw material comes from: the gatherer, rare finds with their Guild Tier, the quest types that drop it, Tower floors for crystals, Temple purification or "Market only". This came from the Steam forums.
Rival trust shows its number and how far the next tier is, with a small bar, in Guild Trading and on the rival's dossier.
The Quartermaster has an "Improve gear" button. It fills every open improvement slot on equipped gear at or above a grade you pick (B by default) with the improvement that best suits the wearer, using materials on hand. It needs Armory Tier 2.
Scout priority lists let you type a row's position or drag it by a handle.
You can send parties to quests and raids from the War Table before you build the War Room. Region Control, Supply Lines, outposts, patrols and gatherers afield still need it.
A region's Raids list says why raids can't be mustered yet ("Raids unlock at Guild Tier 3" or "Raids require War Room (Tier 1)") with a link to the Guild Hall.
NOTE: I'm hoping to adjust things in a way where the War Table is instantly usable, but improves over time, so I'll be doing some tinkering here. Def hit me with any "it'd be cool if" thoughts!
Under Immortal Roster a hero's shown age now counts up each season, with an "Ageless" tag, everywhere you see your own heroes. They still never decline or retire and the contract screen reads "never retires". The Retire button reads the same age.
The Hall of Fame legend window has an "Open <name>'s dossier" button.
Click the version number in the bottom-right corner to copy it ("Version copied"). Handy for bug reports.
Party-wide defense passives now work properly in battle. Aura of Protection, the leadership and totem auras and similar buffs raise every hero's health in quest, Tower, raid, garrison and Crown Cup fights, up to +20%.
Injury reductions work on quests again. The Sparring Pit, the Chirurgeon, the party captain, Lucky Dodge, Battle Hardened, injury-reducing traits and the Commander's guard give each wounded hero a chance to shake off the wound, up to 50%. In the Tower your injury prevention, Cautious orders and potions do the same.
A protective spell cast on allies, like a monster's ward, no longer plays as an attack with a flinch and a "-0". The log says the allies were "warded".
On hex-fought quests the Tactical Debrief compares your power with the full threat the fight was scaled to. It used to show a lower threat, which made a risky win look safer. The "Power advantage" injury row that never applied is gone.
The Tower battle log narrates a group heal as a heal on each ally it reached and counts it in Total Healing, not as a hit on the boss.
The Training Efficiency banner shows your real bonus instead of +0% and its tooltip lists each source. The bonus always applied: only the display was wrong.
A hero hurt in a repeating party drill now pauses the drill's auto-repeat until everyone is fit instead of switching it off. If fewer than two heroes are left drilling, the feed says so.
"Disable all auto-training (N)" counts heroes only.
When the Commander's Orders keep a party home, the "stayed home" line posts once when the stretch begins, not every week. It posts again when the reason changes.
A hero bought from a rival counts only the quests they played for your guild on the memorial, retirement, Hall of Fame and Dossier career cards.
The Career tab and Durability "Weeks Lost" count every injury week. Surface Breach runs now count on each hero's raid stats.
A hero whose contract runs out during a faction contract, dispatch, event, garrison watch, patrol or sortie finishes it before leaving.
The Dossier's tier ceiling tooltip shows the ceiling the game really uses under Uncap Potential or a lowered cap.
When a hero retires, the Instructor option previews the skill they will really have.
The Guild Block no longer freezes the game for several seconds when you open or sort it.
The Treasury ledger's Category filter shows every category in your language. Bulk sales file as Loot Sale under the week you sold them instead of a raw "sale" on Year 1 Week 1, older ones included.
A hurt gatherer's staff card shows the real weeks to heal, as the War Table does.
Clicking a rival guild leader's coin opens their panel before you build the War Room. It used to do nothing.
League quests no longer cut back the power of heavily invested parties (maxed traits, faction buffs, party chemistry and top gear).
A hero whose contract lapses in a league shows in Former Members and a release the league refuses files a "Not on the Market" report.
Sage's Wisdom's Whisper Chains page says Surface Breach Doctrine needs Neutral standing or better and a faction you haven't met never counts.
On Proton and the Steam Deck the Windows build uses the GPU again, so you no longer need the --in-process-gpu launch option and the Steam overlay works. Emoji no longer show as empty squares.
Appearance ▸ Text Size scales the top bar's text on the CleanOS and Parchment themes.
Escape closes the End Week summary again after you settle a construction choice.
The Compendium's Station Required box names the building tier a recipe needs ("Requires Workshop T2").
The Train screen's Prospects tab opens a panel titled Prospects with the Academy tier and trainee slots.
Russian: Skip Celebrations reads «Пропускать итоги недели», which names what it does.
