Hello all,
In preparation for the upcoming Next Fest this October (19th thru 26th), the demo has been moved into version 0.3. This includes a very wide swath of changes across pretty much all aspects of the build. Every change made has been to keep the demo as true to the current working 1.0 build as possible. Without getting too far into the weeds, here is a majority of what has changed from v0.2.
added visual and audio cues to many player and card triggers to make interactions during play more clear
overhauls to much of the game UI (ie, buttons, menus, etc)
revamped the game over screen, as well as between game screens, and the how to play section
sound leveling across both music and SFX
changed the triggering order of card effects to make them uniform in their process regardless if they are upgraded or not
add hovering info tips to certain in game elements to assist player learning/understanding
balancing across both players and opponents. Some opponents previously felt too oppressive and were only really beatable with certain deck builds
increased the speed of play by adding the ability to skip certain sections (transition screens, etc), along with deceasing the amount of time certain functions took to complete
countless other fiddly under the hood stuff that nobody but me will likely ever notice
As far as the 1.0 build of the full release is progressing, I'll be linking the current in game challenges to Steam Achievements at the start of next week, then the first fully compiled build of the game will be done and tested to make sure nothing janky with the intention of submitting it to Steam on October 2nd for review.
Here is a quick look at how the demo compares to the experience of the full game.
As always, thank you to anyone who has already taken the time to check out the demo. I truly appreciate it. - Jefe
