Early Access Roadmap

Station Command · published 11 Sep 2026, 18:32 UTC

With Station Command releasing into Early Access on Tuesday, we're excited to show you what we plan to bring to you over the next few months.

Time

Let's start with the big one: months, not years.  The game is in very good shape, and the remaining content is very far along.  Releasing in Early Access gives us a chance to hear early feedback and make any pivots we need to, but outside of something truly catastrophic you can expect the full campaign to be available at the start of next year.

New Chapters

Every major update we plan to deliver will bring with it an additional chapter in the story along with the factions, ships, equipment, research, upgrades, and more you would expect from that.  When you reach the end of the currently available chapter, we make an autosave for you so once the next update hits you can just load your game and continue your story.  You can expect chapter 2, 3, and 4 to be roughly the same length (and we will likely be going back and adding extra content as we go where it makes sense).  The final chapter will be a little different, but we'll talk more about that when we get there.

New Gameplay

While we're not intending to do anything as large as the Science and Engineering systems we've added in 0.7, there will be plenty of new gameplay to discover as your story progresses and your toolset expands.  We can safely say that large ships and equipment, picking tactic upgrades, and unlocking faction and ship role synergies are all but guaranteed at this point.  More ideas are also in the works, and we're very interested to hear suggestions from our players as you dive further into the world.

Whether you're fighting pirates, a corrupt manager, rival mining corps, <REDACTED>, or even <REDACTED>, most of our gameplay is combat. If you've played our demo, you've seen how our combat works at a basic level. The mix of turn based strategy and auto-battler we think is pretty unique, but it's also relatively simple. And that's a good thing! That's an intentio…Community31 Jul 2026Dev Diary #4 - ChoicesLet's talk about choices. As better designers than me have pointed out , they're the core of what makes up any game. We've already talked about a lot of mechanical choices you'll be making in previous diaries. Today I want to focus on the narrative choices you'll be making. Some of these are what you would expect. Characters offer you a clear choice, you pick one. Good and bad things happen bas…
