ㅤWelcome, Survivor!

The launch was great so far, so first of all, please accept our thanks! ːheart_meː

We're not slowing down, and are spending each day working on improvements and fixes to the game, the amount of which grows larger with every passing work hour.

Due to the number of changes being added, we have decided to open a permanent public beta branch of the game on Steam. This will allow us to test the changes in a controlled environment with the help of anyone who is interested in trying things out for us.

Please read the information below to find out how to join the public beta version of the game and to learn about the potential risks involved. Bear in mind that everything in it is subject to change based on your feedback, so please keep us updated on your thoughts.

IMPORTANT: To reduce any possible confusion and accelerate the implementation of fixes & changes, please keep all the discussion related to the beta test versions of the game to the spaces listed below:

  • "Public Beta Test" sub forum on YAZS Steam forums ːyazs_thumbsupː
  • A dedicated #yazs-beta channel on our Discord server ːyazs_thumbsupː
  • Feedback Form available in the game under the F8 button ːyazs_thumbsupː

ːyazs_crossbonesː DISCLAIMER: Before jumping straight in, please understand that the beta version of the game might be unstable, create issues when switching between old & new builds of the game, and will often be in an overall imperfect state. We will do our best to help you with any problems you encounter, but please be aware of the risks associated with software beta testing. Thank you!

ㅤːyazs_skullː How to join the Public Beta Test?

Want to help us out and possibly get an early look at the new versions of the game? Awesome!

If you understand the potential risks and are willing to take them, here's how you can get involved:

How to join:

  1. Open your Steam client, find Yet Another Zombie Survivors on your games list, right-click its name and select the "Properties..." option.
  2. Enter the "Game Versions & Betas" tab, and select the "public-beta" option. You can always return to the default version of the game by selecting "Default Public Version" again.
  3. And that's all! If the beta/test version of the game is different from the current one, the Steam will update the game with its changes. You will know that the Beta Branch is active from the "[public-beta]" text to the right of the game's title in your game's library.

PS: You can always force an update or an update check by selecting "Verify integrity of game files" in the "Installed Files" tab of the game's Steam preferences. This is useful when we release quick hotfixes.

ㅤːyazs_skullː What should I do if the game works worse or crashes?

Please keep us updated on the stability of the game. We will continue to work on improving it and fixing any issues you encounter during the beta test. If the game stutters or crashes more frequently than before, please let us know!

If you are experiencing worse performance in the game than before, please press the F8 key and quickly complete the survey to let us know what is going on. This will send us your log files, allowing us to check for any errors occurring in the background.

If your game is crashing, freezing, lagging, or you've lost your progress, please make sure you've checked the Troubleshooting Guide (link below) first, and contact [email protected] with the description of the issue you've encountered.

ㅤːyazs_skullː Where to find the list of changes made in the beta?

Game updates on the beta branch won't have a changelog connected to their downloads in the Download section of Steam - this is a normal behavior. To check the information on what's new, refer to the dedicated Steam forum or the dedicated Discord channel.

We will do our best to keep you updated about changes, but we may not always update these changelogs in time. So, please don't worry if you see an update on the beta branch with no information on the forum or Discord.

ㅤːyazs_skullː Thank you!

We would like to thank all of you who are playing the game, sharing your feedback with us and posting suggestions on how to improve it. The release has gone well so far, and we hope to share more information about it and about our plans going forward in an upcoming devblog news post soon!

Thank you all for your support and patience ːyazs_loveː

See you soon!
