Hey Absolute Students,
Another month has come and gone, and the team has been hard at work on Episode 2, no summer break for anyone here! Now, let’s dive into what the team has been working on this month!
Actually before we get into it, I first want to thank you all for leaving us a review and passing the milestone of 250 Steam reviews at 91% positive rating! Words can’t show how much this means to all of us on our small team.
Again thank you for leaving a review, from the positive ones giving praise and that leave a smile to our faces to even the negative ones leaving us good feedback and wanting the game to be better. We are taking that feedback to heart.
We have been regularly showing off new skill card animations every month! This month we are highlighting Benjiro and Shigure!
Every time I receive one of these from the artist and developers, it just makes my jaw drop at how great they look.
There are a ton of new character sprites being worked on! The artists have been killing it and I am so excited to share a few for Himari, Shigure, and Hiroshi! We'll be sprinkling more of these into future Dev Logs too, so keep an eye out.
Now for the main event, we've discussed the Card Shop before, but how about we show it off now?
Nyanus will always be present as your not-so-humble shopkeeper, providing information about the various Skill Cards and upgrades on offer and snark when you don't have the cash to afford one. There will regularly be new things available, so check back every once in a while!
One very special Skill Card can be found here, the mysterious Wild Card. Collecting all five of it during a Card Battle Debate is an instantaneous victory, but harnessing its eldritch power comes at a cost.
Finally, for our last reveal of this Dev Log, we're excited to share a brand new song coming with the release of Episode 2! This is “War of Words — Heartbeat” by MichaelOST, which will play during critical debates in the Clinical Trial! Listen here:
Last month, Mango Factory hosted the annual Summer Fan Art Contest! Yesterday was the last day for entry and we couldn’t be more thankful for all the artists that took the time to draw for the contest. There were a ton of entries that the team is currently reviewing and we’ll get an announcement out soon highlighting the art and all the winners of the contest!
