Feature Focus: Couples

Hello Hoteliers!

Welcome back to another feature focus blog! Recently, we've seen a lot of questions about Couple check-ins and how they work, so let's talk about it in more detail!

When were couples first introduced?

Couples were first introduced in the 1.0 version of Hotel Architect, thanks to player feedback throughout Early Access.

Couple check-in requirements

Couples will arrive in any bedroom zone that has the following items available:

  • Either one double bed, or two single beds.

  • One luggage rack each, or a double case stand.

It is not necessary to have two wardrobes, but if you want to give your guests the option, that is totally up to you!

As you can see in the picture below, the blue and pink room are designed to allow couples to check-in whereas the green and red rooms will only be suitable for a single guest.

Couples follow the same rules as all other guest types, so if you want a couple of Upper Crust guests to arrive in your hotel, you will need to ensure all of their requirements are met!

What do couples do?

Couples will accompany each other for a variety of activities throughout your hotels, including:

  • Checking-in (and out) together

  • Visiting the restaurants and dining together... after all, there's nothing more romantic than enjoying a pea soup together!

  • Working out at the gym together.

  • Enjoying various amenities together, such as the darts board and air hockey table!

Do couples pay more for a room?

The overall cost of a room does not change regardless of whether a single guest or couple checks in to it. The price is for the room itself, not the individual guests.

However, couples do pay individually for restaurant meals, drinks in the bar, and when getting snacks from vending machines!

Thank you for reading and for learning more about the couples in Hotel Architect! If you have any questions, or want us to do a feature focus on any other topics, then be sure to leave us a comment below!
