Folded Fables: Tidy Up The Dragon Hoard · published
Today feels very momentous. We're two days away from releasing Folded Fables and the initial response has been so positive that the atmosphere around the office is electric.
But that is not all. Today is the 11th anniversary of launching our first game on Steam: Crusaders of the Lost Idols. Yeah! That event was a huge milestone in the evolution of our studio. We got our start making Flash games on Facebook. Then we expanded to Kongregate and Armor Games. Finally, Crusaders brought us to Steam. And now we have experience shipping on every major platform, from PC and mobile to consoles. That expansion all started eleven years ago today with the move from the web to Steam.
Creating Folded Fables feels like coming full circle. It has been lovely returning to the world of Crusaders and Bush Whacker 2. We worked hard to include references to beloved characters like Nate Dragon, Jim the Lumberjack, and Sasha the Fierce Warrior. Even the Idol from Crusaders of the Lost Idols returns in Folded Fables.
It has been quite the journey over the past eleven years. We've had the privilege of sharing our games with millions of players and very soon, we will start another chapter. I can't wait for you to experience Folded Fables!

Fun Fact #1: Many people mistake "penultimate" for "the day before," but it actually means "the day before the day before" or, more succinctly, "second to last." What I didn't know until writing this post is that it comes from the Latin words paene ("almost") and ultimus ("last"), literally meaning "almost last."
Fun Fact #2: Shortly after shipping Crusaders, I made a version of the idol out of rigid foam board. Yes, I occasionally make things out of materials other than paper. It is rare, but it does happen.
