Version 1.4 is here! This update makes the House’s dice decisions much stronger, fixes several issues affecting gameplay, and makes bonuses easier to identify.
A smarter House
The House now decides whether to reroll based on the expected value of its dice, rather than simply chasing the highest possible face. In our simulations, the old “keep rerolling while the maximum is possible” approach performed only about 12% better than the baseline. The new approach reached about 43.5%—matching the simulated optimum.
This is a significant difficulty increase: by round 20, the House’s target is approximately 3,390 points instead of 2,360. We’ve kept the existing difficulty weightings, but we’ll be paying close attention to how this feels in real games. The simulations don’t account for player builds, shop purchases, or bonuses, so they cannot tell us whether every strategy remains viable.

Thanks for playing! If the House feels too tough after this update, let us know which round you reached and what kind of build you were using—that will help us make informed balance adjustments.
