We Have Been Working Hard On Something..

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since our last update, and we wanted to give you a small glimpse of what we’ve been working on for the past year and a half.

First, thank you for your incredible support and patience. Seeing what the modding community has created, and your continued passion for UEBS, has blown us away. We’re forever grateful.

So, what have we been working on?

We’ve taken on our most ambitious technical project yet: a fully software-rendered GPU game engine.

In our last update, we showed our CPU software renderer. That was a research project that laid the groundwork for what we’re building now. Our new engine can handle billions of polygons in real time, making it an ideal foundation for our next title.

What does “software-rendered” mean? We’ve written our own algorithms for drawing triangles from the ground up. These run on the GPU, replacing the dedicated hardware normally used to turn triangles into pixels. This gives us much more control over how we render scenes at an extraordinary scale.

[Screenshot: A very early look at an extreme test—a battle of 40 million units on a map spanning 12 kilometres.]

[Screenshot: A densely detailed environment featuring millions of ground objects stretching far into the distance.]

Rendering and graphics are only part of the story. Our goal is to handle staggering amounts of geometry across hardware ranging from low-end to high-end PCs, removing barriers that have held back our ambitions for years.

And yes, we’ve already developed new crowd technology, and the results have been mind-blowing! We want the physics to match that scale, too, so we’re also building a GPU physics engine designed to handle millions of rigid-body objects, including ragdolls.

With this new engine, we hope to break some world records. Most of all, though, we’re excited about the freedom it gives us to bring some of our wildest ideas to life, both in our next title and beyond.

That’s all we can share for now. Thank you again for your continued patience and support. We can’t wait to show you more!
