Hello everyone ːsteamhappyː!
It is finally time to answer the questions you submitted back in April. I definitely didn't forget about them.
There are no plans to add SCP-953 to Taj Mod.
New classes and items are always interesting, but there are several challenges involved, particularly the older codebase, balancing, and the lack of dedicated artists for creating new models.
We have already reintroduced SCP-018, as well as the Micro H.I.D. from Megapatch II, and I would like to implement some other items from SCP: Secret Laboratory. At the moment, however, there are no plans to introduce completely original SCP items.
If anything similar is added, it will most likely be Adrenaline. However, there are no plans to implement it at the moment.
Weapons are one of the areas I am least familiar with. When I play SCP: Secret Laboratory or other games, I care more about whether a weapon feels good to use than about its individual mechanics or attachments.
Because of that, I currently do not have any major plans for weapon-related reworks.
Aside from crouching, which is already implemented, I currently do not have any major new gameplay mechanics planned. That may, of course, change in the future.
The current settings menu was put together shortly before the initial Taj Mod release, which is why it is so limited. I would like to rework it and add more options. Hopefully, this will be done before the Steam release.
That was something I originally wanted to implement for the initial release, but it quickly became a low priority while I focused on fixing more important issues. It is still something I would like to add, and if development goes smoothly, it may make it into the Steam release.
I would like to migrate from the current outdated custom translation system to Unity Localization. This would make it much easier to localize not only text but also audio and sprites.
We also want to make it easier for the community to suggest or correct translations through Crowdin, while also reintroducing support for custom translations.
Assuming this question is about the moderation tools, I would like to improve them and the overall experience of using them. This includes a temporary mute system with the ability to specify the reason. I am not yet sure when I will work on this.
Probably the reworked role system.
There is no strict roadmap for Taj Mod. This is primarily a hobby project that I use to gain more experience with Unity and game development in general.
I usually work on features or changes whenever I want to experiment with something, and if I am happy with the results, it may end up in a future update. My ideas and priorities can change very quickly: one day, I may want to implement something completely new, the next day, I may rewrite some old code instead.
I currently expect Taj Mod to be in active development for approximately one or two years after its initial Steam release. After that, I will probably focus on my other projects and release updates containing bug fixes when necessary.
Ideally, one of the final major updates would introduce tools that allow server owners to keep the game alive and customize the gameplay more extensively.
That said, this is still a hobby project, so I do not want to make any promises this far in advance.
We are currently working on a very basic plugin loader that will make it easier for server owners to load their plugins.
Initially, it will be intentionally simple, meaning most additional functionality will need to be implemented by plugin developers themselves. It is possible that we will expand the plugin loader in the future.
I do not really see Taj Mod becoming a modding platform for SCP: Secret Laboratory. Instead, I would like to give server owners more tools to customize the gameplay.
The most difficult part has been working with the old codebase alongside the changes I made over the years while I was still learning how Unity worked.
To answer that, I decided to ask Hubert in person, and this is what he said:
I was aware of the project from its early stages and even became friends with Taj as it progressed. On multiple occasions, I've had the chance to play the pre-release builds and I very much enjoyed doing so. I love seeing the community initiatives and reimaginations of our game, so I'm excited to see what it will become in the future.

I have no plans to publicly release Taj Mod's source code or Unity project.
And that concludes this Q&A! Thank you all for your questions and your continued support!
