As you know, currently we are working hard on Gold Mining Simulator 2. The demo version is still available and later this year we will release playtests for the multiplayer mode that will be available in the sequel. We know that you can't wait for it but in the meantime we made something and we come with great news regarding the first game - Gold Mining Simulator: Definitive Edition!
We want to share with you playtests so you would be able to dig gold together with your friends. The co-op mode for GMS2 should be available at the end of this year, but if something unexpected comes out we will release it in the beginning of the next year. Now you can try the mechanics of the sequel with a free demo, that just recently got a new update.
We know that when developers announce a "Definitive Edition," the first question is always: Why isn't this just a patch? We want to be completely transparent with you.
To achieve our vision for the Definitive Edition—specifically upgrading the graphics to URP and completely removing loading zones—we had to significantly raise the minimum hardware requirements.
If we released this as a standard update, we would be forcibly locking out a portion of our community who play on older PCs. By making the Definitive Edition a separate product, players with older hardware can continue enjoying the original Gold Mining Simulator uninterrupted, while those with more powerful rigs can experience the game in its ultimate form.
