Hey Sponge Buds!

Another day, another update with fixes and improvements based on your feedback.

Performance & Bug Fixes

We've made another batch of quality-of-life improvements throughout the game, including:

  • Bombs now have weight, allowing them to activate pressure plates.

  • Reduced choppy water across all levels for a smoother rafting experience.

  • Improved how several items are held, including the Silver Egg, Horn, and Defibrillator, making them less intrusive while playing.

  • Improved emotes so they now play more consistently. Dancing emotes will continue until you move, audio now follows your character correctly, and several bugs related to overlapping or lingering emote sounds have been resolved.

  • Fixed an issue where players could permanently hold an item after using the plunger.

  • Fixed an issue that could sometimes result in a broken raft.

  • Fixed several audio issues, including fan audio and plank stacking sounds.

  • Fixed multiple replication issues that could cause objects to desync between players.

  • Fixed an issue where wood planks could clip through the player's face when held.

  • Fixed a crash caused by a faulty button on the final level.

  • Fixed a variety of UI and localization issues, including menu navigation improvements, translated text, and more consistent back button behavior.

Level Improvements

We've continued refining several levels to improve navigation, recovery, and overall flow.

  • Reaching New Heights

    • Added another player puller near the elevator section to make recovering after a fall much quicker

  • Wood Chipper

    • Smoothed out overly steep river sections and fixed an area near the end of the level where the raft could become stuck.

  • Razor's Edge

    • Improved part of the ramparts to make pulling the raft much easier.

  • The Climb

    • Removed barriers near the top of the mountain that could make moving the raft unnecessarily frustrating.

  • The Barrage

    • Improved the opening ramps, removed wheels that could occasionally launch rafts into the air, and adjusted later jumps to make them more consistent and easier to land.

  • This Is It

    • Fixed a faulty button that could cause a crash in the final level.

As always, thanks for continuing to play Sponge Break.

We hope each of these updates makes your experience on the river better than ever.

See you on the rapids!
