Hello again, Sponge Buds!
We've got another update rolling out! This one is smaller, but focuses on removing a few frustrating moments throughout the campaign while making solo play a little more forgiving.
Adjusted the Down But Not Out system
Normally, when the last player is downed, the game quickly ends the run so you can jump back into the action. However, certain types of deaths weren't correctly triggering that faster timer, leaving players waiting much longer than intended.
This has now been fixed, so wipeouts should transition much more smoothly.
Wood Chipper
Added hammers and a campfire to make solo runs more forgiving.
Razor's Edge
Added additional recovery resources to better support solo players.
The Ascent
Fixed the lake beside the bridge so it no longer unexpectedly ends your run.
The Climb:
Fixed another troublesome lake and added hammers + campfires to make solo play easier.
The Barrage:
Improved the opening ramps, fixed a lake where rafts could sink, adjusted terrain around one of the puzzles for easier navigation, and added recovery resources for solo players.
This Is It:
Fixed an elevated lake that could unexpectedly ruin an otherwise successful run.
Thanks to everyone who's been playing Sponge Break, reporting bugs, and sharing feedback with us. Every update is helping make the river a smoother (but still appropriately chaotic) place to adventure.
See you on the rapids!
