Raw Video 2.2 Is Now Live

Raw Video 2.2 is a major update built around a simpler local image-to-video workflow, stronger timeline tools, improved video enhancement, and a cleaner, more reliable Steam package.

What’s New

A New Animate Workflow

  • Added the new Raw Video 2.2 Animate workflow.
  • Reworked generation into one streamlined Animate path.
  • Added automatic handling for landscape, vertical, and square source images.
  • Improved progress reporting throughout generation, frame smoothing, encoding, and enhancement.
  • Removed the older multi-mode render selector from the public workflow.
  • Removed the previous Continue Scene and queue-based generation systems.

Video Enhancement

  • Added Enhance This Video for higher-detail, upscaled output.
  • Added enhancement preflight checks for supported clip size and duration.
  • Improved output handling and access through Open Output.

Timeline and Editing

  • Improved timeline assembly for generated videos, still-image cards, and imported audio.
  • Improved timeline export behavior.
  • Improved clip trimming and still-card workflows.
  • Improved drag-and-drop editing and general timeline usability.

Faster, More Reliable Startup

  • Improved application loading times.
  • Improved Steam-delivered first-run behavior.
  • Added the complete local Python runtime, required standard-library components, Qt support files, and Microsoft runtime dependencies.
  • Improved startup handling to prevent incorrect Windows GPU-memory reports from blocking supported NVIDIA hardware.
  • Strengthened the protected startup and launch process for more reliable Steam installations.

Responsible Local Creation

  • Added responsible-use notices and source-image consent checks.
  • Added a local warning for source images that may contain explicit adult content.
  • Updated AI disclosures, content-use language, store information, and user-facing documentation.
  • Raw Video continues to operate locally on the user’s Windows PC.

Shipping Build Cleanup and Protection

  • Embedded the internal Animate and Enhance workflows directly into protected application code.
  • Protected the application source using PyArmor.
  • Removed loose workflow files from the shipping package.
  • Removed development artifacts, test media, build caches, routine debug logs, and temporary output files.
  • Improved automatic cleanup of temporary ComfyUI files after successful output delivery.

Known Issues

  • A trimmed clip is saved correctly to the output folder but may not automatically return to the Video / Image timeline. It can still be added manually from the output or library.
  • A newly generated Last Frame continuation may occasionally overlap an existing timeline clip instead of appending after it. The clips can still be repositioned manually, and timeline export remains functional.
  • Lower-VRAM GPUs may successfully launch Raw Video, load an image, and begin the workflow but fail during rendering if the model exceeds available GPU memory. Raw Video 2.2 is intended for supported NVIDIA RTX desktop-class hardware.

Thank you to everyone who tested, encouraged, and helped bring this update across the finish line.

Welcome to the Raw Video 2.2 era.
