October 7–10, 2026

Hey Bobys!
Thank you to everyone who’s jumped into the demo since October 7! We’ve been working on getting you into matches faster, making refills smoother, and fixing things that interrupt the chaos. Here’s what we’ve been working on.
- Pick a map and jump into Quickplay. Quickplay searches for a matching room or creates one. New Quickplay rooms use 15-minute Deathmatch, with bots filling empty seats.
- Skyline: 4-player free-for-all
- Ballsfield: 2 teams, up to 16 players
- Sand Castle: 4 teams, up to 16 players
- Bring your squad. Queue with up to four players, including yourself. Your captain picks the map, and matchmaking looks for space together on team maps. On Skyline, your friends become your rivals!
- Keep playing offline. If Steam is unavailable or creating an online room fails, Quickplay starts an offline bot match on your chosen map. Offline matches support one human player.
- Hold to refill. Tap Pickup at a dispenser to take one ammo, or hold for one second to attach and rapidly refill your reserve. Release to detach; taking a hit interrupts the refill too. We’ve also improved the straw attachment and sipping animations.
- Clearer How to Play demonstrations. Lessons begin immediately and show keyboard or controller prompts above the characters. The refill lesson demonstrates tapping before holding, and special-ammo lessons now fire the correct item.
- More life in Ballsfield. Jelly-bear fans cheer and toss players back from the stands. Stadium clocks are easier to read and turn red during Sudden Death. Crowd effects have a lighter version for low graphics settings.
- Fewer stuck situations. Improved trapped-bot recovery and ghost landing checks, helping prevent respawns inside props or below the floor. Trapped footballs return to the pitch, and crowd launches retry when temporarily blocked.
- Livelier menus. Floating Bobys reflect your customization and squad. Friends arrive in bubbles—and clicking a bubble sends its Boby tumbling. Play options and map selection are clearer, with online hosting still available in the demo.
- Audio and visual fixes. Boosted quiet voice-chat playback, restored bomba shadows, and fixed duplicate goal-net collision geometry.
A note about settings: This update includes a preferences reset. Graphics default to High with 8× anti-aliasing, SSAO and SSIL, and voice chat defaults to Open Mic. Please recheck your controls, audio and graphics preferences. Progression and unlocked cosmetics are preserved.
Thanks for playing! Keep sending us bugs, clips, and feedback—especially which map you were on and what happened.
See you in the boba chaos!
