Hello everyone! This is a developer from The Platypus, currently losing more and more hair by the day.
It has been two days since the game launched, and we’ve spent those two days collecting your feedback and continuously making adjustments.
One of the most common topics has been the game’s difficulty.
Difficulty was something we thought about a lot from the very beginning of development.
Pay Back Girls is a card game, but it isn’t just a card game, so we felt it should be easier than a typical card game.
But at the same time… if the girls give in and take their clothes off too easily, wouldn’t that take some of the fun out of it?
While the difficulty varies between game modes, the game was originally balanced so that you could clear it fairly easily by [taking your time and not getting too greedy].
(Blackjack was a little more difficult, as the dealer followed a more standard casino-style strategy.)
However, since most of our testing was done calmly in the office, we made the mistake of overlooking one important fact:
Not every player is in a situation where they can take their time.
We briefly forgot the true nature of this game.
Our apologies.
Therefore, we have lowered the difficulty as follows:
Difficulty Adjustments
Increased starting funds: 1,000 → 3,000
Made the AI in Five-Card Draw and Texas Hold’em more optimistic and aggressive
→ Opponents will now bet more aggressively even with weaker hands, increasing the player’s expected value
Lowered the Blackjack dealer’s stand threshold to 16
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where some completed story scenes could not be viewed in the Album
We also plan to improve convenience by allowing saving and loading during gameplay, or by introducing automatic saves whenever you advance to the next stage.
We’ll get to work on that as soon as we can get in touch with our designer, who is currently completely wiped out.
We’re carefully reading all of your feedback, so please keep sharing your thoughts through the comments or forums.
Thank you!
