Today, I want to share a bigger vision for the future of Home Store Simulator that I am genuinely excited about.
One important part of this vision is TVs. For a while now, some players have been asking for TVs to work as Display Models. This is actually something I have been thinking about for quite some time as well.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that this could become much more than simply changing the way TVs are sold.
I don't want your store in Home Store Simulator to eventually feel like nothing more than a large building filled with products. I want it to increasingly feel like a real home furnishing store, where you can create different living spaces and design your store in your own style.
Currently, TVs are placed on TV Stand furniture, and customers purchase the TVs directly from those stands.
I want to change that.
My plan is to remove the current TV Stand system and make TVs work as Display Models instead.
You would place a real TV in your store for customers to see and inspect. When a customer purchases that TV, however, the displayed model would remain in place. The sold TV would instead come from your boxed stock in the Warehouse.
Just like you would expect in a real home furnishing store.
I also want to replace the current TV Stands with proper TV cabinets and TV units that can become a real part of your store's interior design.
Because this isn't only about where a TV is placed. It's also about what kind of space you can create around it.
Imagine creating a display area with a sofa, armchairs on each side, a beautiful Coffee Table in the middle with a vase on top, and a TV unit directly across from them with a TV displayed on it.
At that point, you are no longer looking at a few products placed next to each other.
You are looking at an actual living room that you designed inside your store. ❤️
That is one of the directions I want Home Store Simulator to move toward.
I don't want TVs to simply become Display Models either.
I want you to actually be able to turn their screens on and off, with short video content playing while they are turned on.
Whether the TVs in your store are running would be entirely up to you. If you want a more lively and impressive electronics section or living room display, you can leave them on. If you want to reduce your expenses, you can turn them off.
TVs that are left on would consume electricity and contribute to your electricity bill. Turn them off, and they would no longer consume electricity.
This way, something that makes your store look more alive also becomes a small part of actually managing it.
But this new vision is about much more than TVs.
Home Store Simulator was not created to become just another generic store simulator.
I want it to become something unique within its own space and give you the feeling of actually building and managing a real home furnishing store.
A major part of that is eventually being able to create real room displays inside your store.
Over time, I want to significantly expand the number of sellable products, furniture, and decoration options available in the game. Instead of simply placing products into an empty space, you will be able to combine them to create complete living environments.
Living rooms, bedrooms, children's rooms, and much more.
You could build a living room using sofas, armchairs, tables, TVs, and TV furniture. You could surround a display area with walls to make it actually feel like a separate room.
You could hang a painting on the wall. You could place decorations throughout the room. You could combine furniture, decorations, and sellable products in ways that make each area feel intentionally designed rather than simply stocked with merchandise.
And one of the most important parts of this vision is freedom.
One player's living room could look completely different from another's. One store might have a modern style, another might feel more traditional, while another could reflect the player's own completely unique taste.
Your store shouldn't just become bigger. It should become yours.
I have a lot of plans for Home Store Simulator.
More sellable products, more furniture, more decorations, more design options, and much more freedom to personalize the store you are building.
The changes I am planning for TVs are actually a great example of this larger vision. Instead of simply changing one mechanic, I want different parts of the game to connect with each other in more meaningful ways.
A TV doesn't have to be just another product you sell. It can become part of a living room you designed, have a screen that actually works, and even affect your store's electricity consumption when you leave it turned on.
I believe Home Store Simulator can grow into a much richer, more detailed, and truly unique simulation game within its space. There is still so much I want to build and so many ideas I want to bring to life. ❤️
I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts about this new direction. You can share your ideas in the discussion below this announcement or with me on Discord.
There is still so much more to come for Home Store Simulator. 🏠❤️
