The Five Mini Games Inside the Idle Game

Someone asked whether the "Deep Invest" button next to a quick action was just a bigger version of the same thing. It is not. Every deep action in the Nurture console opens its own real minigame, and until now the only way to know that was to click one yourself. So here are all five.

↑ Seed Life, on Earth

Seed Life is the only one-time action in the whole console. Drag four glowing seeds out of the dark and onto the waiting planet before they drift past it. Get all four planted and Earth ignites from zero, from Sterile straight into Microbial Life, live on the map behind the panel.

↑ Deploy Probe (and Reinforce Orbit), on any world

Deploy Probe sweeps a beam around a ring. A target zone sits somewhere on that ring, and you get three chances to click the instant the beam crosses it. No aiming, no position to hit, only timing.

↑ Harvest Resources, on any world

Harvest Resources surfaces crystals around the planet that fade after a few seconds each. Click them before they're gone, six total. Miss one and it's just gone, no penalty beyond the miss, and there's always another one surfacing somewhere on the ring.

↑ Stabilize Atmosphere, on rocky worlds

Stabilize Atmosphere starts four nodes in the wrong place entirely, scattered off the ring. Drag each one to its slot and feel it snap into place. Quietest of the five, and somehow the most satisfying.

↑ Ignite Core, on gas giants

Ignite Core heats six segments around the planet's core, each on its own separate clock. Click a segment while it's actually hot and it ignites for good. Click too early and nothing bad happens, the segment just isn't ready yet, so you keep circling the ring waiting for your moment.

Every deep action pays out more than the quick version of the same button sitting next to it. Playing them well is worth doing, not just worth watching. If you've been clicking straight past the deep buttons because the quick one felt like the efficient choice, that was never the intent. Go find out what's actually behind them.

Major update10 Sep 2026Demo v0.3: less at once, and a lot better to look atThe clearest thing people told us about the demo was that there was too much on screen too early. A station console, a tape deck, a puzzle shelf and a panel of systems, all at once, before you had lit anything. So the demo has been rebuilt around the first hour. THE DEMO, UPDATED TODAY All of this is playable right now, free. The console introduces itself one piece at a time A new save no longe…Game update2 Sep 2026Demo v0.2.3: Mac frame rate fixed, and a gentler openingTwo days after the big one, a patch. Most of it came from watching people play the last build. Mac players: please try again If you played the demo on a Mac through Steam this past week, it ran at about 20 frames per second, and that was our bug, not your machine. The Steam overlay helper we ship for Windows was also running on Mac, where the overlay has never worked, and it was costing more th…In-game event1 Sep 2026Demo v0.2: a new opening, worlds lit by their star, and a Windows fixFirst demo update since August 20, and it is a big one. Here is everything that changed. The opening · The game now opens on a Portia Plays studio card, then the title emerges out of black over a living star field. Any click or key skips ahead. · First-time players skip the card and go straight into PORTIA's boot sequence. · Boot lines animate in properly, and skipping the boot fades instead of…
