DRONECOM is now on Steam: wishlist the sensor-warfare sim

EMCON is everything

DRONECOM is a real-time naval combat sim played from the seat of a Combat Information Centre (CIC). Nothing can be seen until a sensor detects it, and every emission you make to find the enemy can be used to find you. Turning a radar on extends your view and advertises your position at the same time. The whole game is built around that trade-off, which navies call Emissions Control (EMCON).

What you do

  • Hunt through physics: radar, sonar, infrared and optical sensors with real propagation. Radar horizons, terrain masking, thermocline layers, cavitation.
  • Design your own fleet: no fixed unit rosters. Assemble submarines, ships, aircraft and missiles from chassis, sensors, warheads and engines, then launch them from your carriers.
  • Read a real console: manage assets and tracks in an authentic combat information sensor using Naval Tactical Data System (NTDS) symbology
  • Solo, co-op and head-to-head: fight the AI alone, share a datalink picture with an ally, or hunt another commander. Every mode plays by the same sensor rules, and so does the AI.

A note from the developer

I am a solo developer and since the start of 2026 I have been building the naval game I wanted to play, one where the map shows what your sensors report rather than what is true. If that sounds like your kind of game, a wishlist genuinely helps more than anything else at this stage.
