New Regional Worlds Launch TODAY! | June 3rd

Old School RuneScape · published 3 Jun 2026, 09:47 UTC

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Heads up 'Scapers: There will be no game update next Wednesday on June 10th, as the team will be focusing on ideating for passion projects for Game Jam VIII. However, we will still be opening the Rewards Shop for Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts next Wednesday, without the need for game reboot. We'll be back with regular game updates on the following Wednesday, June 17th!

This week's update brings some handy Farming QoL and Sailing Changes.

Changelog - June 3rd

New Regional Game Worlds Launch Today!

  • Today we're launching new game worlds across three different regions, covering Japan, Singapore and South Africa!
  • These worlds will launch shortly after our usual game update, and we'll let you know when they're live.
  • You'll find the new game worlds here:
    • Singapore:
      • F2P: 660
      • Members: 661, 662, 663, 664

    • South Africa:

      • F2P: 667
      • Members: 668

    • Japan:

      • F2P: 698
      • Members: 699, 700

  • We'll continue to explore the feasibility of more game worlds in new locations.

Gathering QoL Improvements

  • Tool Leprechauns now have a right-click 'Deposit-all' option, allowing you to quickly dump your tools or offload buckets en masse without opening the interface.
  • You can now dig up healthy plants while they're growing in the farming patch by using a spade on them.
    • This won't apply to patches that can contain only one type of plant, such as mushrooms, Belladonna, Grapevine, Redwood, Crystal trees, Spirit trees etc.
    • As part of this change, planting XP has been moved to either the end of the harvest process, just as the patch is cleared, or the check-health stage.
    • To ensure you don't miss out on planting XP should your plant die, clearing a dead plant affected by this change will now award the planting XP you would have gotten, had the plant survived.
    • You can once again get "planting" XP from a Goutweed tuber - on harvest or clearing up a dead plant.

  • When you have an active Farming Contract, the required seed or sapling is now displayed at the top of the Seed Vault by default
  • Using a Seed Box on a farming patch will now automatically attempt to plant the first seed suitable for that patch.
  • Seeds can be reordered in the Seed Box interface by right-clicking the box and selecting 'Check'. You'll then be able to drag and drop seeds into your desired positions.
  • Herb patches now show which herb they contain in the right-click options.
  • We've added a right-click 'Clear' option for Cactus or Potato Cactus patches, allowing Cacti to be cleared even if they still have produce (Cactus Spines or Potato Cacti) on them.
  • We've reintroduced Sulphurous Fertiliser (made by combining Saltpetre and Compost), to be used on vine patches within the Hosidius Vinery.

    • When applied to a vine patch, Sulphurous Fertiliser will increase grape yield (including Zamorak's grapes) by 20%.

Sailing Changes

  • Courier Tasks now award 10% more Sailing XP, making them a more rewarding training option throughout the skill, while ensuring they don't overtake Sailing Trials as the best XP method.
  • For players running efficient delivery routes, Courier Tasks should now offer noticeably better XP rates while remaining below top-end Trial activities such as Gwenith Glide.
  • Every Sailing creature can now be reliably targeted through at least one guaranteed Bounty Task location.
    • For example, a player can go to Deepfin Point to guarantee getting a Veiled Kraken task or go to Lunar Isle for a Vampyre Kraken task.

  • Bounty Tasks have been expanded to last significantly longer, reducing the need to return to port as often.

    • Most task requirements have been increased by around 5x, meaning you'll spend more time fighting creatures and less time returning to ports for new assignments.
    • Some examples include: Terns from 3 to 15, Butterfly Rays 1 to 5, Tiger Sharks 1 to 5, Albatrosses 1 to 5, Pygmy Krakens 6 to 30 and Vampyre Krakens 6 to 30.

  • To support these longer tasks, Bounty Task XP has been rebalanced to reflect their longer requirements.
  • Drop rates for Dragon Cannon Barrel, Dragon Hook, Bottled Storm and Dragon Metal Sheet while completing Bounty Tasks have all been increased.

    • We've also added Dragon Sheets and Dragon Nails to Orca loot tables, creating another source of Dragon Ship upgrade materials.

  • Increased the Dragon Metal Sheet drop rates for Frost Dragons and Lava Strykewyrms.
  • Increased the Dragon Nail drop amounts for Frost Dragons.
  • The buy limit of Rubium Splinters has been increased from 4,500 to 30,000.
  • Added a 'Teleport to Last Boat option' to the Teleport to boat (tablet), Player-owned house portals, Portal Nexus, and Scrying Pools. If you've previously selected a boat, you'll be able to return to it with a single click.

Other Changes

  • A missing tile of land has been restored north of the Kualti Headquarters.
  • We've streamlined the creation process of the new gem containers. You can now combine any required component with another to create the Gem Pouch, Satchel, Tote, or Sack.
    • Note, this does not include using a needle on thread.

PvP Rota

The PvP rota has moved to Period A:

  • 539 - (US) - PvP World
  • 318 - (UK) - Bounty Hunter World
  • 548 - (Germany) - High-Risk PvP World
  • 577 - (US) - Free-to-Play PvP World
  • 559 - (UK) - LMS Competitive

World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been activated with this rota.

World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been activated with this rota.

The PvP Arena is using 'Max/Med' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.

That's right, we shared our upcoming plan to release three new regional game worlds during our Campfire, and we're ready to launch them today!

Today, we'll be adding the following worlds:

  • Singapore:
    • F2P: 660
    • Members: 661, 662, 663, 664

  • South Africa:

    • F2P: 667
    • Members: 668

  • Japan:

    • F2P: 698
    • Members: 699, 700

These will go live shortly after our usual game update with no need for extra downtime or a relog. We'll update this blog and pop a message out on socials when they're officially live so you won't miss it!

Just like with the Brazilian Game World launch, each new location will have their own flag beside the world number so you know you're heading into the best location for you.

If you're curious about the work involved behind-the-scenes, check out our Brazilian Game Worlds release blog.

We'll continue to explore the feasibility of more game worlds in new locations. Our goal is to bring better ping regardless of where you play! We'll be sure to keep you updated on when these worlds will launch.

Gathering QoL Improvements

We're bringing you a selection of changes from our Gathering QoL, Trouver Changes & more blog!

Farming Updates

Tool Leprechauns

Tool Leprechauns now have a right-click 'Deposit-all' option, allowing you to quickly dump your tools or offload buckets en masse without opening the interface.

If you can't see the image above, click here!

Patch Clearing

You can now dig up healthy plants while they're growing in the farming patch by using a spade on them.

  • This applies to patches where multiple crop types can be planted, making it easier to recover from incorrect plantings.
  • This won't apply to patches that can contain only one type of plant, such as Mushrooms, Belladonna, Grapevine, Redwood, Crystal trees, Spirit trees etc.
  • You'll receive a warning before digging up a plant, with the option to disable future warnings.

If you can't see the image above, click here!

As part of this change, planting XP has been moved to either the end of the harvest process, just as the patch is cleared, or the check-health stage. To ensure you don't miss out on planting XP should your plant die, clearing a dead plant affected by this change will now award the planting XP you would have gotten, had the plant survived.

However, bear in mind that if you dig up a healthy (or diseased) plant before it reaches the check-health or harvest stage, you will lose out on the planting XP. This prevents unintended training methods like repeatedly planting and digging up seedlings to gain planting XP without waiting for them to grow.

As a result of this change, you can once again get "planting" XP from a Goutweed tuber. As above, on harvest or clearing up a dead plant.
Seed Box & Vault Changes

  • When you have an active Farming Contract, the required seed or sapling is now displayed at the top of the Seed Vault by default, so that the relevant seed is easier to grab in a pinch.

If you can't see the image above, click here!

If you can't see the image above, click here!

Herb Patches, Contracts, and Compost

Herb patches now show which herb they contain in the right-click options.

  • Note, this change does not apply to dead herbs. For that, you will need to inspect it.

If you can't see the image above, click here!

We're continuing from where we left off with changes from our Sailing Buffs blog.

Courier Task XP Improvements

Courier Tasks now award 10% more Sailing XP, making them a more rewarding training option throughout the skill, while ensuring they don't overtake Sailing Trials as the best XP method

For players running efficient delivery routes, Courier Tasks should now offer noticeably better XP rates while remaining below top-end Trial activities such as Gwenith Glide.

Bounty Task and Miscellaneous Changes

  • Every Sailing creature can now be reliably targeted through at least one guaranteed Bounty Task location.
    • For example, a player can go to Deepfin Point to guarantee getting a Veiled Kraken task or go to Lunar Isle for a Vampyre Kraken task.

Port Guaranteed Bounty Task Void Knights' Outpost Pygmy Krakens The Summer Shore Albatrosses The Pandemonium Terns Ruins of Unkah Eagle Rays Rellekka Narwhals Red Rock Tiger Sharks Prifddinas Armoured Krakens Port Tyras Manta Rays Port Sarim Terns Port Roberts Great White Sharks Port Piscarilius Tiger Sharks Port Khazard Hammerheads Musa Point Bull Sharks Lunar Isle Vampyre Krakens Land's End Butterfly Rays Etceteria Orcas Deepfin Point Veiled Krakens Corsair Cove Stingrays Civitas illa Fortis Frigate Birds Catherby Ospreys Brimhaven Ospreys Ardougne Mogres Aldarin Spined Krakens

Bounty Tasks should now be a much stronger option overall for players looking to farm specific Sailing creatures and their unique rewards.

Even though these creatures are not Bounty Task related, we should also mention Frost Dragons and Lava Strykewyrms in relation to the buffed drop rates. We've also increased the Dragon Metal Sheet drop rates for Frost Dragons and Lava Strykewyrms, and Dragon Nail drop amounts for Frost Dragons.
