This update brings new mouse targeting, updated controller aiming, and combat changes that put more emphasis on preparing your defenses.

Aiming and interaction

  • Point directly at objects with the mouse to select them. The cursor changes to a hand over an eligible target.
  • Press Q to cycle between overlapping targets under your pointer.
  • Controller aiming now uses a directional arrow around your character and remembers your last aimed direction.

Combat and defenses

  • Increased combat wave pressure to make defensive preparation more consequential.
  • Strengthened Home walls and their health upgrades.
  • Updated Home wall sites to use the grove’s construction costs and durability.

Other improvements

  • Added animated den hints that disappear after your first recruit.
  • Improved squirrel deposits and shared mushroom harvesting.
  • Adjusted intro lighting timing.
  • After choosing Keep Playing, day/night visuals continue while combat and pollution hazards remain stopped.

This is still a rough prototype. Each attempt starts fresh, with no save or resume.

I’d love feedback on the new aiming controls and whether den upgrades, extra moose, and walls make preparing for combat feel worthwhile.
