Wallpaper Lock is launching ahead of schedule!
We have some exciting news: Wallpaper Lock has reached its final release version and passed Steam review earlier than expected. We originally planned to launch in October, but everything came together ahead of schedule. Wallpaper Lock will now be available on Steam on:
September 24, 2026
Wallpaper Lock turns your Windows desktop into a customizable walk-away screen while keeping your live wallpaper or chosen video visible.
What you can do with Wallpaper Lock
Activate your protected screen instantly with a customizable global hotkey.
Use Wallpaper Engine when detected, or display your own looping wallpaper video.
Show a separate reaction video when keyboard or mouse input is detected.
Return automatically to your wallpaper after inactivity.
Choose whether Windows requires your password when you resume.
Configure optional AutoStart and Quick Unlock Bypass settings.
Use Wallpaper Lock with single-monitor and multi-monitor setups.
Keep the app conveniently available from the Windows system tray.
Why we built it
We wanted to leave our live wallpapers running without leaving the PC sitting openly accessible—or waiting for the normal Windows screensaver timer. Wallpaper Lock began as our solution to that problem. After development, testing, and plenty of polish, we’re excited to say that the final version is ready.
Wallpaper Lock launches September 24, 2026. Add it to your Wishlist now, and Steam will notify you when it becomes available!
Thank you to everyone who has followed the project. We can’t wait to get Wallpaper Lock into your hands. — Full Bore Studios
