Fellow cultivators,

Cultivation Road v2.1.0 is available now.

This release marks the arrival of the complete rebuild from Cultivation Tower to Cultivation Road. Rather than adding a few features to the former tower-based game, we rebuilt the core gameplay, interface, progression systems, and environments around an ever-unfolding journey to the east.

Gameplay at a Glance

Your party travels automatically along a continuous side-view road, meeting enemies and bosses at different distances. The protagonist and all twelve unlocked allies can fight together, with independent attack, health, movement, and revival timing for every character. Clear the way and the journey resumes. You can also repeat a cleared distance for resources or return to the frontier whenever you are ready.

Travel and combat unfold automatically while you decide where to invest Spirit Stones, how to develop the party and Sect, which Spells to master, and which permanent relics to collect. When progress slows, begin another cycle and carry your accumulated advantages through twenty layered environments and the boss route beyond 8,100 li.

2.1.0 Changelog: Controls, Saves, and Interface Improvements

  • New Journey confirmation: Selecting New Journey now warns you before creating or overwriting the autosave. Progress is reset only after confirmation; cancelling or closing the dialog leaves the existing autosave unchanged.
  • Per-save environment progress: Unlocked environments and the currently selected environment are now stored in each save slot. A new journey starts from the first environment instead of sharing environment unlocks with other saves.
  • A new cycle transition: The old world and progression panel leave together, the screen fades to white as the environment changes, and the new world enters. Combat, income, animation, and input remain frozen throughout the transition.
  • Combat and interface performance improvements: Character animations, portraits, environment labels, backgrounds, and enemy textures are preloaded and reused from caches. Unnecessary battlefield redraws, state notifications, and progression-tab rebuilds have also been reduced for smoother full-party battles and long sessions.
  • Settings and display improvements: Master, sound effects, music, and voice use independent volume routing. A persistent VSync toggle and a 1280×800 window option have been added. Non-16:9 windows preserve and center the game canvas.
  • Improved controller navigation: The D-pad changes the party camera target and progression tabs, while the sticks move focus and scroll the current tab. A confirms, B closes the topmost window, and Y opens the Bestiary.
  • Improved focus and popup behavior: Controller focus appears only when a controller is detected and is restored or released correctly after connection changes. Menus and popups pause controls underneath them and return focus to the original entry point when closed.
  • Cleaner battlefield presentation: Removed the yellow outline around the entire battlefield while retaining the green portrait outline that identifies the current camera target.
  • Clearer Sect role information: Vacant, locked, and assigned roles are easier to identify. The assignment list shows the protagonist and unlocked allies with their power, and assigned roles can be cleared directly.
  • Number display fix: Upgrades that have reached their limit or cannot advance now display "MAX" instead of an invalid infinite cost.

2.0.0 Changelog: A Complete Rebuild

  • Cultivation Tower becomes Cultivation Road: The name, core gameplay, interface, progression systems, and environments have been rebuilt around an ever-unfolding journey to the east.
  • A new side-view journey: Your party travels automatically along a continuous road and fights enemies and bosses at fixed distances. Repeat a cleared distance for resources or return to the frontier to keep exploring. Beyond 8,100 li, an extended route of boss encounters continues.
  • The protagonist and twelve allies fight together: Every unlocked ally can join the party at once. Each character has independent attack, health, movement, and revival timing, so allies continue fighting while the protagonist recovers.
  • A Lv.1-50 Sect: Develop your Sect from a basic foothold during each cycle. Fifty levels have distinct appearances and unlock five roles in sequence: Supreme Elder, Grand Elder, Second Elder, Sect Master, and Vice Master. Assigned characters generate a steady supply of Spirit Stones.
  • Six Spells and thirty-one relics: Spells alter combat, travel, revival, and party synergy. Relics provide combat, income, and special-mechanic bonuses, and remain permanently across cycles.
  • Thirteen protagonist realms: Advance through thirteen realm stages for new appearances and further growth.
  • Twenty layered environments: Layered skies, distant scenery, and seamless roads form a continuous side-view world. The first nineteen cycles unlock new environments in sequence, and unlocked themes can be selected from the Bestiary.
  • New pace controls: Travel and combat unfold automatically. Hold the battlefield to accelerate allied attacks and revival timers.
  • Four-language support: The interface, subtitles, and character voices support Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, and Japanese.

Important Save Notice

Version 2.1.0 uses a new save format and cannot load or migrate saves from the previous Cultivation Tower release. Please create a new save after updating.

This rebuild changes the core progression, data structure, and gameplay flow, so progress from the former tower-based game cannot be converted safely into the new distance, Sect, and cycle systems. Thank you for your understanding.

Platforms

Version 2.1.0 is available now for Windows and SteamOS + Linux. macOS is not included in this public release.

Thank you for supporting us throughout the journey. The new road is open, and we will see you out there.
