Follow the Blood | A New Tracking Mechanic

Hunting is not always about finding your target at first sight.

In The Lost Hunter, a wounded animal will leave behind a trail of blood as it tries to escape. Every drop tells a story - and if you're patient enough, you may be able to follow it.

Track Your Prey

When an animal is wounded, it won't simply disappear into the wilderness.

As it flees, it can leave bloody footprints and blood drops along its path. These traces create a visible trail that can help you determine where the animal escaped and continue the hunt.

But don't expect the trail to be perfectly obvious.

The further you follow the wounded animal, the more carefully you'll need to observe the environment. Blood on the ground, bloody footprints, and the direction of the trail can all give you clues about your prey's movements.

The Forest Remembers

The wilderness is full of distractions.

Dense vegetation, rocks, terrain, and changing light can make tracking a wounded animal challenging. You'll need to slow down, look closely, and read the signs left behind.

Sometimes the trail will lead you directly to your prey.

Sometimes… it will disappear.

And sometimes, following the wrong clue could take you deep into the forest.

Hunt. Track. Survive.

This new mechanic adds another layer to hunting in The Lost Hunter.

A successful shot is no longer necessarily the end of the hunt - it can be the beginning of a tracking sequence.

Spot the blood.
Follow the footprints.
Find your prey.

The forest is watching.

More hunting and survival improvements are coming as we continue developing The Lost Hunter.
