The Offering Hour Demo v0.5.2 is now live.
This update is about how combat feels, and about making a lost run tell you something.
Combat feel
- Avatar heavy skills now land with a brief hit-stop, and an Avatar's descent hits harder when it arrives.
- Heroes and monsters now react to being hit: light blows nudge them, heavy blows knock them back.
- Monster packs now surround their target instead of piling into one jittering clump.
- Avatar roars no longer get cut off in the middle of a big fight.
How skills work
- Ossian-Rex's Curse and your monsters' on-hit effects now correctly apply to enemy waves, not just heroes.
- Attacks and skills no longer lock onto enemies that are already dying.
- Fenris-Vane's finisher now only grabs heroes and passes straight through smaller enemies.
- Units now layer correctly in front of and behind each other.
Runs and onboarding
- The defeat screen now shows where your seconds went: summoning, dark rites, rituals, merchant deals, and time simply passing.
- The Herald now walks you through the tutorial as dialogue.
- Soul Siphon now gathers every crystal on the field at once, and crystals can be collected by sweeping your cursor over them.
- Fenris-Vane unlocks sooner, so your first Avatar arrives earlier.
- The Avatar button no longer lights up when you don't have enough time to pay for it.
- Heroes now gain less experience from slain monsters.
- Volume settings are now saved.
Stability
- Fixed several errors that could appear during long fights.
