Hero's Path Dragonblood

Hello, Solo-raiders! 👋

Welcome back to Hero’s Path! This time, we're staying with the Warrior and taking a look at one of its three specializations: Dragonblood. Dragonblood is designed to be one of the simpler specializations in the game, but that doesn't mean it's lacking any ferocity.

The core of the spec revolves around two different sides of your character: your normal form, where you're building up Draconic Power, and Dragon Form, where you spend that power and gain access to a completely different set of enhanced abilities.

Your goal is to build your Draconic Power as efficiently as possible so you can eventually activate Dragon Form, but you're still spending your Combo Charges and dealing damage while building toward your next transformation.

Draconic Power

Your main tool for building toward Dragon Form is Talon Strike. It’ll generate both Draconic Power and Combo Charges, and once you enter Dragon Form, it transforms into Molten Talon, which can then morph again into Molten Rend.

You also have Scorch, which acts as a Combo Charge spender while also helping you generate more Draconic Power. This means you're constantly juggling the two resources, but you can keep using your Combo Charges while continuing to work toward filling your Draconic Power.

Then there's Fire Burst, another Combo Charge spender with an 8-second cooldown. It also generates a significant amount of Draconic Power, making it an important part of getting yourself into Dragon Form as quickly as possible. The general idea: Use your Combo Charges however you please, but keep generating Draconic Power and eventually you’ll be the one with the boss music.

Dragon Form

Once your Draconic Power is full, it's time to use Draconic Awakening and enter Dragon Form, Dragon Form transforms your abilities into completely different versions of themselves.

Talon Strike becomes Molten Talon, which then transforms into Molten Rend. Scorch becomes Dragon's Bite, while Fire Burst transforms into Infernal Crash. Even Draconic Awakening itself changes into Dragon's Breath while you're in Dragon Form.

Essentially, the abilities you've been using to build your resources are now replaced by their more powerful Dragon Form versions. It's what makes the spec feel like it has two distinct sides while still keeping the transition between them relatively seamless. You're not learning an entirely different rotation every time you transform; your abilities just simply evolve into their more powerful forms.

Mastery

As with the other specializations, you have plenty of freedom when it comes to your talent build. You can choose to increase your maximum number of Combo Charges, improve your overall Draconic Power generation, or even take a talent that reduces the damage you take while you're transformed if you want.

The goal is to give you room to decide what kind of Dragonblood you actually want to play rather than forcing everyone into the exact same build. Whether you want to focus on building your power as quickly as possible, maximizing your damage, or making your Dragon Form a little safer, there's room to experiment.

What Does The Dragonblood Damage Look Like?

And, as it is already tradition for this type of post, here’s one example of the damage distribution a Dragonblood Warrior could have.

Dragonblood is a relatively straightforward Warrior specialization, but there's still plenty of room to master its resource management, burst windows, positioning, and Dragon Form. If you enjoy fast-paced gameplay, strong single-target and multi-target damage, and the general idea of turning into a dragon and beating the ever-living hell out of things, Dragonblood might be right up your alley!

Look at that, you made it to the end! Are you interested in participating in playtests and getting to know more about what the devs are doing? Check out our discord!

Thanks for the support and see you in the next one 😉
