Midwest 90: Rapid City Joins Weird Days - And Our Demo Has Been Updated!

Hi Guys!

As the title indicates - Midwest 90 is in the line up of Weird Days: Job Simulator, hosted by our buddies Dark Cocooning games!

Now for those who have been following our updates, I bet you want to hear all about the new update to the demo.

Is there new content?

Yes!

We've added several new languages to the demo so that more players around the world can experience Midwest 90.

There's some new stuff too.. but not enough to make another playthrough worth your time. Its a demo after all.. we're not in early access.. yet!

I also want to add that after watching people play, we came to the conclusion that the old demo simply gave away too much of the story.

So if you've been following Midwest 90 for a while and played far enough to encounter the Blood Boar...

Well, congratulations. You had privileged access. :)

Consider it our little thank you for supporting the game early.

If you're discovering Midwest 90 for the first time during Weird Days, don't worry...you aren't getting an inferior demo.

You'll still get a proper taste of the core gameplay loop and the world we're building. We're simply keeping more of the story, encounters and surprises waiting for you in the full game.

And remember: the story itself is still being finalized.

And that leads me to the next part... there's something important we want to be transparent about: these new translations are temporary, AI-assisted translations. This is not permanent.

Midwest 90 is still in development, with a lot of dialogue, story content and other text still being written, changed and polished. As a small independent studio with very limited funds, professionally translating content that we know will continue to change isn't financially practical for us right now.

But we didn't want that to mean players who don't speak English couldn't try the demo.

So, for now, we've used AI-assisted translation to make the current demo available in more languages.

This is not how we intend to ship the final game.

Supporting human creative talent is important to us. Once the game's dialogue and text are finalized, we intend to hand the finished material over to human translators so that the final release is properly localized by people.

We hope you'll understand why we've chosen this approach during development. We're trying to make the demo accessible to as many people as we can while using our limited resources to finish the game.

Welcome to Weird Days

We're a small team trying to bring a rather strange game about running a roadside restaurant during a monster apocalypse to the finish line.

Every wishlist, demo playthrough, piece of feedback, video and recommendation helps.

Thank you for giving Midwest 90: Rapid City a chance.

~ Kesh
