Hello All!
As we get closer to opening the doors, I wanted to lay out a clear roadmap for where Out A Space is headed over the next few milestones.
1. Playtest (Launching Next Week!) We are hopefully dropping our first Steam Playtest next week! I’ll post a dedicated announcement as soon as access opens up with exact details on how to jump in and start testing core combat and ship handling. Currently, the build review is with Steam as soon as we get the thumbs up, I will post more details about the start date.
Please note Out A Space is not launching in Early Access, so your feedback is super important for helping me perfect the game before launch.
The playtest will target a 2 of 8 sector run taking about 15-20 minutes per run, alongside a tutorial and build testing mode, plus a few things to unlock. I will be closely monitoring if this is enough runway to assess the game and may let runs go longer if it helps us better balance the game.
I also plan to keep this playtest updated with new things to play with on a regular basis leading up to the demo.
2. Public Demo Transition Once we collect feedback from the playtest and iron out any major stability or balance issues, the build will transition into a permanent public demo available right on the main Steam page.
I am hoping to have this up around October or November and will continue collecting feedback during this period.
3. Full Release Window I am currently targeting a full launch window of Q1 2027, most likely right after the February Next Fest. As a solo developer, making sure the game is polished, stable, and packed with replayability is my top priority over rushing out the door.
Keep an eye out for next week's drop! I can't wait to get the ships into your hands!
