Patch Notes

Areteion v1.0.12

Features

  • Added swapping: two cards you control trade places in one simultaneous move, at any distance both can afford. Each pays the Movement cost of the route to the other's tile. Both must be free of summoning sickness and able to stand on the other's tile. Other cards do not block a swap, and having attacked does not prevent it.

  • Added Upcoming Effects Preview (round 4+): shows your next turn's two possible Olympian blessings/curses, your Favor, and each one's odds. Toggle in Settings → Animation Styles → Upcoming Effects Preview. Not shown during the Tutorial.

  • Demo: added Hero's Journey (Labors mode only). Cards earned count toward the 20-card demo cap. Added Labors leaderboard.

  • UI Scale in Settings now goes down to 50% (was 85%).

  • The 8 tiles around your Domus now always include at least one Field, Forest, Hill, Mountain and Sea. Applies to every mode and to both starting positions; only the Tutorial keeps its scripted map. Sea is still never placed directly beside a starting position.

Bug Fixes

  • Volcanic Eruption (Hephaestus) no longer damages enemy or neutral cards, only your own.

  • Drunken Escapade (Dionysus) no longer wastes itself on an unplayable Invocation.

  • Philosophy (Apollo) now correctly caps Arete loss to cards actually played, not cards the AI considered.

  • Pan, God of the Wild now shuffles the reduced hand costs at end of turn. The shuffle previously had no effect, so each card just kept its own cost minus 1.

  • Moving around impassable terrain now costs the Movement the route actually takes. A land card going around water was charged straight-line distance and kept the difference.

  • Clarified Guidance of Glory's text: it now states that the Hero itself heals and gains the Arete, and that Encounter functions count.

  • Madness (Ares) now carries out all of its actions. Only the first move ever happened, so the character stopped after one step no matter how many the curse rolled.
