Hello to all ant colonies!

It's time to talk about the design of the new locations.

Four new episodes went through many stages of technical and artistic design. We assembled each map from different control zones, placed creatures where they would actually settle in nature, and distributed food sources so that capturing different areas of the map would bring tangible benefits to the colony.

In addition, we did a lot of work on visual and narrative design. We tried to show the terrain as a moment frozen in time: how water has eroded the slopes for decades, carrying different soils down the terrain, how insects ate the vegetation around new bases and left behind traces of life. Each map should not just look beautiful - it should feel real. Real for a small ant colony that has emerged to the surface for the first time after spring.

With the bases, we took into account the mistakes of past versions. This time, we created them from materials that actually exist in the surrounding area. The texture of the stones, the grass, the shape, and small details - everything is assembled from what can be found around the base. Thanks to this, the new settlements should fit much better into the world.

And also, we listened to your comments and dealt with the wasps. Now they do not live on flower meadows like bees - indeed, flowers are probably of no interest to them. On the other hand, wood appeared around their bases: wasps use its fibers for construction. And the space next to them has become less friendly.

This was the last dev blog about the mountains. In a week, we will tell you about the new Steam game interface.

In-game event28 Aug 2026Dev Diary #6: The First Ranged EnemyHello to all ant colonies! This is the bombardier beetle. When we added a ranged unit to the game, a huge number of players sent us this exact insect and suggested adding it. Yes, we are adding it. It's awesome. Shooting is a completely new mechanic for our game, so we are introducing it carefully. First, we test how it works in various game situations, and only then do we expand its use. We ha…In-game event21 Aug 2026Dev Diary #5: Map EventsHello to all ant colonies! One of the main new features is map events. This idea was inspired by the spiders from the marble quarry: sometimes they could eat their neighbors or even a raid that was heading towards the player. It looked unexpected, alive, and very funny. We decided to develop this mechanic and teach enemies to interact with each other. At the same time, we deliberately did not t…In-game event14 Aug 2026Dev Diary #4: Big Mountain UpdateHello to all ant colonies! Today we want to share with you a development diary of the new mountain episodes. We have added new events on the map, made wasps aggressive to other opponents, and developed many changes, about which we have prepared a series of several diaries. In older versions of the game, each biome had only one level on normal and high difficulty. Over time, we realized that we…
