Howdy, Anglers!
This week’s update is a little housekeeping around the Dock as we prepare for the Voodoo Fishin’ 1.0 launch on October 13!
We’re tightening bolts, balancing tackle, and chasing the last few gremlins out of the swamp before our biggest update since Dock Quotas. Here’s what’s cookin’ in today’s patch.
Rod and Reel Balance Pass 🎣
We’ve completed a balance pass across most of the rods and reels in the game, including a broader normalization of their stats.
Our goal is to smooth out the progression curve and give y’all more meaningful choices at each price tier. Instead of one piece of tackle always being the obvious winner, you’ll have more reason to consider which stats best suit your fishing style.
Better Tackle Shop Rerolls 🎲
We’ve adjusted Tackle Shop rerolls to reduce the chance of seeing the same rod twice in a row.
Those of y’all hunting for rare, higher-tier rods should have better luck finding something worth bringing home.
We’re also planning a second Tackle Shop for a future update. This shop will specialize in high-end gear, giving you a more reliable way to buy premium tackle without feeding all your hard-earned cash to the reroll gods.
Stability and Bug Fixes 🛠️
We’ve added better protection against joining bugged lobbies, helping keep players out of sessions that are already in a bad state.
We also fixed an issue where opening and closing the Tacklebox, then immediately casting, could leave your puppet stuck tighter than a jon boat in swamp mud.
Improved Bug Reporting and Support 📋
We’ve updated our in-game Bug Reporter to help you collect and send more useful log files when something goes sideways. Continued support and stability will always be a priority for us, so we’re working to make that entire feedback process smoother for everybody.
Coming October 13: Voodoo Fishin’ 1.0! 🔥
Full release is less than two weeks away, and we’re loading the boat with our biggest haul of new content yet:
🐟 Two new fish species with 12 new fish to catch
🗑️ More Junk
🎣 More Baits
🎃 Spooky Seasonal Tackle
🗺️ More than 30 Missions, including unique rewards that can only be earned through Missions
👹 Two new Enemies
And that ain’t all, cher. We’ve got more to share as October 13 approaches, and we can’t wait to welcome y’all into the full version of Voodoo Fishin’!
As always, thank y’all for your continued support and feedback. If you’ve been enjoying the game, please consider leaving us a Steam review. Every review makes a mighty big difference for our little team and helps more puppet anglers find their way into the swamp.
Tight lines! 🎣
